and then two-plus-one. Three-plus-two is too high for a new faculty and a
new teacher. Both teaching and research will suffer. |

3+2 is OK for a teaching school, but is too high for a research school.
Research schools usually has 1+1 or 1+2 in the first a couple of years,
and then becomes 1+2 or 2+2.
