tape up at the scene.
what does the phrase 'up at the scen' modify?
1) yellow tape
2) an ambulance up at the scene and yellow tape up at the scene
if you choose 2, do you think the following correct?
Grande says she saw teachers hugging each other, and an ambulance and yellow
tape up at the scene.
anyone can explain more about the usage and function of 'up' and 'and'. | Y**s 发帖数: 1632 | 2 I would assume 'up at the scene' is used to modify the teachers hugging each
other, the yellow tape, and the ambulance - it wouldn't make much sense
otherwise. The sentence isn't wrong but it could be clearer through
rearrangement.
How about:
At the scene, Grande says she saw an ambulance, yellow tapes, and teachers hugging each other.
or:
Grande, who was at the scene, says she saw an ambulance, yellow tapes, and teachers hugging each other.
better to move teachers hugging each other to the end |
