record some of your favorite programs, make sure you can
understand every word , otherwise watch the tape again and
again till you do.
Cheap and effective.

I often chatted with American guys even they hate my broken English. But I did
not feel progress. Moreover, I also find it difficult to improve the amount of
English words cause only very common words are touched in Spoken English.
It is shame that I even don't know how to respond other's striking up a
conversation.
In addition, American guys often like to use slangs which are so difficult to
be understood.
