Prerequisites | w***h 发帖数: 1160 | 2 Honda, thank you so much for the information, it's very useful. I am already
the member of MENC now. What I need to know is that which school distract
sponser H-1b so that I will be able to work.
Are you a music teacher, Honda? | h********c 发帖数: 223 | 3 I'm not a music teacher...I have a friend who's looking for jobs as a music
teacher now. She's graduating from college with a music degree. She doesn't
have any certification and she's an international student.
I'm guessing that she's just going to use her OPT though.
Good luck on your search. I heard that many schools need music teachers and
it's not hard to find a job when you don't have to worry about the h1-b
issue. You might have to try many many schools to find one that sponsors h1-
b thou

| w***h 发帖数: 1160 | 4 Honda, sounds right, I will try to contact schools as many as possible, my
advisor said that the music teaching job market is good. For me the only
issue is H-1b, except my English, my background is strong enough to conpete
with American people. Tell your friend, if she wants to be a music teacher,
it's better for her to take some Orff or Kodaly(very famoused music teaching
mothed classes) classes and get a certificate from that subject, many
schools looking for certified Kodaly or Orff teachers | h********c 发帖数: 223 | 5 Thank you Irene. I just looked up the two terms on wikipedia, I really like
the Orff Schulwerk. If I have kids I would love to teach them music myself
using that method. I also like the quote:
"Tell me, I forget;
show me, I remember;
involve me, I understand." | w***h 发帖数: 1160 | 6 I like that too, and I will write it down.
Actually, I am going to take Kodaly level III (the highest level)this summer
. For music teachers, if they combine this two methods togather, they will
be very strong teachers. Since Kodaly method is highly organized,step by
step. It gives music teachers well designed curriculum (K-7or8), follow it's
step, and add more Orff stuff, the music classs will be the perfect ones.
Actually, I am observing a music teacher's class in a public school, she got
