green card(s).
EB2--PD: 5/26/06; AD: 11/2; NSC -- 2 cards ordered
We feel lucky our cards were ordered on the 2nd day our PD became
current. That said, numerous efforts have been made before the
adjudication finally arrived.
Due to an error made by our lawyer, we initially thought our PD became
current as of September. So on September 1st, we did the following:
1. SR for both I-485 cases
2. Letter to 2 senators and 1 congressman
3. Letter to Secretary of Homeland Security - Janet Napolitano
4. Letter to First Lady
1) SR obviously didn't work then since our PD was not current in Sep.
2) Received reply from one of the 2 senators and the congressman. Both
offered to help, but we asked them to hold off the inquiry since PD was
not current yet.
3) Received reply from assistant of Secretary Napolitano. I believe
this one helped our quick adjudication because the assistant did send
the inquiry through to NSC. Even though we got the standard reply, our
cases were apparently looked into, maybe pre-adjudicated by an IO.
4) Don't waste your time on 1st Lady. She/her staff don't read!
We also did an infopass in mid-October. You can skip this action
because it was of little help, but we did get confirmation that someone
was working on our cases at the time Secretary Napolitano's inquiry went
in.
When our PD finally became current yesterday, we did SR again and
contacted senator's office. In 1 day, we got emails from USCIS and 2
cards were ordered.
We are not exactly sure which of the following actually worked:
1)Secretary Napolitano, 2) Senator and 3) SR. For those of you who want
to do something as opposed to waiting forever, try all these measures.
At the very least, you know you have tried your best and will probably
feel calmer and more patient while waiting. | z********o
