(a) A year ago, I read The World in 2010. Today I read it again. The same
set of GDPs for Taiwan and Japan in that edition were as followed.
Taiwan ...................$16,430 ($35,990)
Japan .....................$40,440 ($33,340)
(b) Because population of Taiwan has not changed sigficantly. GDP growth
rate can translate into growth rate for GDP per head. Now that Taiwan's GDP
growth rate will be around 9% this year--about the same jump from $35,990 to
$40,290.
(c) The prediction by Economist's This World in 2010 bears out in IMF's
estimation for THIS year for Taiwan.
