My comment:
(a) In Q1, 2010, Taiwan's GDP increased by 13.27%, "which outpaced
China’s 11.9 percent expansion." Compared with Japan's Japan's 4.9% and
America's 3.2%. All figures are annualized rate. However, Taiwan's and China
's are year-on-year whereas Japan's and America's are quarter-on-quarter.

report by Kwong) who said Q1 2009 was -9% (y/y, annualized rate), I did an
extensive search on the Economist, the web and Taiwanese government's web
site(www.dgbas.gov.tw), I could not find the -21% GDP growth rate. I am
still sure I read it from Economist, but it could be for Q4 2008, which
dgbas.gov.tw listed as -8.36%. |
