hard for declarer to take 10 tricks as it appears.

simple and elegant. It got to be right. I don't know why he ask 防守还是做庄
... probably he knows I would have made wrong choice. |

发帖数: 2168 | 4 防守还是做庄... I remember bucky's Weekly Problem Column had a similar theme
once: try to decide whether Declarer or Defense prevails for double dummy.
Usu. for this kind of puzzle declarer has only one possible route to make
the contract (in this case, he needs to throw in whoever has singleton trump
while pitching a heart to score 9 trump tricks), and then one can decide
for Defense if there is any way to thwart the plan.

高级比赛，选择防守，因为有可能上daily bulletin。
从东西两家的叫牌来看，水平不太行，所以不大可能是高级比赛。
综上所述，还是选择做庄。 |

发帖数: 679 | 6 I asked my friend. Pqwer got it right, which we already knew. He said this
hand was from his clippings of newpaper articles (this one something like
toughest defence decision never made). he said he recently had a similar
situation in a team match. At trick 2, like the original defender in the
article, he failed to pitch K under declarer's A, and later he was thrown in
to let the contract through. At the other table, his teammate did not play
A at trick 2 but a lot later, by then pitching K was not too difficult. |
