What's your plan ? | a***n 发帖数: 287 | 2 Other than the regular friendly break in spades and clubs, you can cater
the case where long trump opponent holds fout clubs too by only drawing
two round of trumps and then run two rounds of clubs to see if you need
a club ruff on board.
Did I overlook something here?

If club is 4-1, there are two major chances:
1) the opponent with singleton club has only 2 trumps.
2) one of the opponent holds diamonds Qxx.
Play D9 (which may induce cover of DQ). If DQ doesn't appear, win DA, cash
one spade, play DK, S to dummy, assume S 3-2, now ruff D high. If DQ doesn't
drop, you have to play clubs and hope for case (1).
This line fails if D7 was singleton, but that is a risk to be taken in order
to cater for case (2). |
