A 24-year-old Knoxville man died Thursday morning after his 2008 Toyota
Yaris went off Interstate 640 east of the Interstate 75 interchange and
crashed into an interstate roadway sign, according to Knoxville police.
The motorist was identified as Michael N. Burress of Hammer Road, according
to KPD Sgt. Brian Evans. The crash occurred about 8:50 a.m.
Burress was westbound on I-640 when the Toyota left the highway. It came to
rest on the grassy area off the right side of the interstate.
Burress was taken to the University of Tennessee Medical Center, where he
was pronounced dead.
There were no other occupants in the vehicle.
An accident reconstruction team is continuing the investigation. |
