Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Staff Accountant is responsible for working closely with the Controller
and Accounting Manager of Achieve Beyond’s program to oversee the
operations of the Accounting department.
1.Maintain general ledger accounts and subsidiary journals to support
financial transactions
2.Monthly General ledger account analysis and reconciliations with great
accuracy.
3.Research and investigate any variances and obtain resolutions in a timely
manner by proposing adjusting entries to senior accountant prior to
preparation of financial statements
4.Maintain fixed asset and depreciation schedules and prepare monthly
depreciation and amortization entries+
5.Oversee accounts payable and the junior staff accountant to ensure they
are posting invoices and entries correctly
6.Prepare bank reconciliations on a weekly basis and ensure all deposits are
recorded with accuracy
7.Monitor cash on a daily basis and prepare cash analysis reports semi
monthly
8.Assist with preparation of the monthly financial statements by assigned
programs
9.Assist with preparation of all financial reports for DOL, US Census Bureau
and any other informative reports required by State and local governments
Prepare monthly intercompany journal entries and invoices to allocate
corporate overhead
10.Assist with Payroll Entries and payroll quarterly tax filings
Work closely with outside CPA firm under the supervision of the Accounting
Manager to prepare year end audit schedules
11.Work closely with accounts receivable department to ensure timely
application of payments and reconcile payments monthly
12.Perform ad hoc projects as assigned
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
2-5 years’ experience in a related field – medical industry preferred
Strong knowledge of GAAP
Willing to travel to multiple office locations on a weekly basic
