Yahoo Mail在当年的留学生里，跟Hotmail一样，是人手一个。后来，Gmail出来，竞争
激烈，但是一直在用，后来Mayer上台，先改Yahoo Mail，改的像一坨屎，就弃用了。
然后一直在看Yahoo news, 其实大家爱看yahoo news, 大部分人都是因为爱看评论。其
他的新闻整合平台，只是整合新闻，Yahoo news是唯一还带评论的。结果两年前，突然
很多新闻不让评论了，新闻中间开始穿插大量的看上去很像新闻的广告。那些剩下的让
评论的新闻，格式也变得极其傻逼，大量留白，像大一新生的网站作业。
最后就是Yahoo Finance。这是Yahoo少有的口碑上佳的产品，在极其方便简洁的页面上
整合了大量有用信息。结果两个星期前突然改了新版，找啥找不到，想设置个啥都需要
登录，一页上没啥信息，却有大量留白，丑到了极点，功能性也下降几个档次。当年
google finance出来的时候，试了试就发现不好用，还是回到Yahoo finance。结果

電信商之一的 Verizon，今日彭博社、華爾街日報等各大外媒都已經報導，Verizon
Communications 將以 48 億美元（約新台幣 1545 億元）買下 Yahoo，預計將於台北
時間 25 日晚間 9:30 之前正式對外宣布。
根據彭博社報導的消息來源指出，由於先前 Yahoo 一直認為自己的價值被低估，因此
幾次的交易傳聞都沒有成真，恐怕是雙方依舊在價格上談不攏。其中也對 Yahoo 十分

MFL 作为本版最老的饭大喜联盟，一直是最受关注的比赛，堪称百家饭里蛋炒饭。
由于历史原因，MFL 一向挂在 rtsports.com 上面。
但近年来，大家对 rtsports 颇有微词。
相比 Yahoo (BFL、DFL 所在地)，rtsports 显得很有“九十年代感”：
信息不丰富，界面较粗糙，操作不友好，等等。
去年就有人提议，要不要把 MFL 搬去 Yahoo，跟BFL、DFL 并列。
我研究了一下，觉得技术上基本可行，主要的阻碍可能来自感情上。
(1) Yahoo 能否实现 Keeper League？

只有一个盎司的可能性，私了+推个把被告员工出去自保才是common practice，不然等
人告了也是要出血，还陪上公司的名誉，太不划算了。
不过也不排除原告要搞一票大的，在yahoo内部调查的时候故意withhold evidence，真
上庭了再出手，不过那样的话她就不能跟yahoo要经济赔偿了吧？
不管怎么样，Yahoo对MZ是真不错，反过来也说明她还满有本事的，至少对上级和公司

，还是被当new grad了，估计去了之后可能还是得跳槽，所以仅从对未来跳槽的加分程

pocket gems: 117k base + 10% bonus + 40,000 option / 4 years + 15k sign on +
7.5k relocation
yahoo: 120k base + 10% bonus + 30k rsu / 4years + 0 sign on + relocation未知
钱上差距不大，pocket gems在三番城里生活成本会高很多，然后给的是option，现在
网上查了一下最近的估值是6亿刀，但是recruiter不给strike price所以也不知道潜在
收益。

小插曲:
Yahoo的一个Sr Director 三月份给我发了封邮件要电话talk不知道怎么给gmail扔
到spam folder去了，等我4月份发现的时候已经安排了两周的onsite,就说等我回来后
咱们再谈吧.
在湾区onsite的时候接到了yahoo另外一个recruiter的电话 问了基本情况 说要给安排
电话面试
我说我人在湾区 recruiter和HM商量了一下 问我能不能推迟一天回去 因为HM决定跳过
电话面试直接给onsite, 我说没问题，只是那天我已经安排了和yahoo其他组的phone
interview能不能也改成面谈? 于是就变成了和两个组的onsite.
Yahoo的recruiter效率也很高，从第一次电话联系我 到onsite 中间只隔了一天
因为最后从了Yahoo，具体题目就不提了

Yahoo邮箱POP3设置方法（真的有效）
虽然使用Foxmail也可以收取Yahoo邮箱的信件，但是那毕竟是HTML转发速度和稳定性
上都不及真正的POP3收取。其实Yahoo的免费邮箱也是可以使用POP来收取信件的:
1. 在IE地址栏中直接输人
http://edit.my.yahoo.com/config/set_popfwd?.src=ym，进人到YAHOO！“网上直投”
的页面。
2. 在注册一项中选择“是”，然后选择你感兴趣的内容，其它的选项可以根据需要来
选择，然后按"完成"按钮。
3. 选择“网上阅读邮件和POP功能”，其它选项可根据自己的需要选择，完成后按
“提交”按钮。
4. 此时“网上直投”注册成功，系统会告诉你的“服务器设置”：
接收邮件(POP3)服务器：POP.MAIL.YAHOO.COM.CN
发送邮件(SMTP)服务器：SMTP.MAIL.YAHOO.COM.CN
注意：虽然每个雅虎信箱用户的POP和SMTP的地址都是相同的，但是用户如果不按上面
的方法进行“网上直投”注册，仍然无法用POP和SMTP方式收发邮件的！

今天上班，从一个只在公司用的yahoo账号给我自己的主yahoo账号forward一封email
过去，结果发现自己的主账号是打开的，意味着有人正在看我的email. 我平时只在家
里才开启主账号查信。到底怎么回事? 已经改了password了，我一个人住的。难道有人
能远程登陆我的计算机，hack到我的密码? 或者知道我的yahoo 账号，就可以用某种软
件猜到我的yahoo 账号密码? |
