but why does it decreases the stability in the hull direction?
Let me explain this from scratch.
1)Wider a kayak is, more stable is it.
2) a wider kayak will lost its trackability.
3) a paddle kayak can only need 29 inches wide to keep its stablity enough
for fishing. But a pedal kayak needs at least 33 inches wide to do that,
as your example shows.
