发帖数: 38 | 1 我又来发帖了，这次是猫猫尿尿的问题，公猫常见的尿路问题。
这只公猫是一年前从朋友那里接过来的，接来时两岁，当时家里已经有一只两岁多的母
猫，想着两只猫可以作个伴。现在公猫在我们家已经一年了。接公猫的时候，跟他之前
的主人聊，说他不喜欢吃wet food.
第一次发现尿尿的问题是在几个月前，发现是因为他频繁去厕所，而且开始到处尿，每
次尿液就一点点，而且我们发现尿液有一点偏红，就赶紧带他去看了医生，医生给了一
些药，吃了两周之后好转，我们也开始在喂wet food的时候加水进去，让他可以多喝点
水。
上周发现他又开始频繁去厕所，因为一直都用的litter robot看不出来是哪只的尿，所
以一觉得不对劲马上又带他去看医生，跟医生说明之前的情况，医生做了urine
analysis and culture, 收到的结果是尿里有少量的blood，但是没有infection。现在
医生建议做X-Ray看看是不是有结石问题。医生建议给他吃 Hill’s c/d diet, 所以现
在在给他喂diet，现在两只都是只喂wet food，喂的时候加水。

想过离开英国所以没有去问过。但是看广告里，有的真的是非tenure-track，我估计这
种可能就是过后走人的。也有那种tenure-track的，这个是不是就是你说的那种生物界
wet lab的常见的ap。在我们这边，一般薄厚完后基本是先要讲师，级别类似美国的ap，
一般是永久的职位，但是有时候也是合同制。所以我个人感觉tenure不tenure的好像也
不是很有关系。我也见过以前有个mit数学系的博士毕业先去哥大三年ap，再去康奈尔

但是你说的美国wet lab没有tenure听起来还真是挺严重的。可能领域不同吧。
我这个领域基本不跟wet lab挂钩，需要基因genotyping的话直接花钱去公司或者别人
的lab里面弄。数据走到哪里都一样可以分析，所以完全不依赖实验。不过我老板跟wet
lab也有合作，比方一做老鼠的实验室，我们就会借他们的老鼠模型得出的结论在人上
假设。

我今天和这个做计算的老师谈了谈，她问我学过线性代数，或者计算机课程吗。我本科
生物，从来没想过计算机科学和统计这些东西。这个计算的教授做的是新的算分分析，
但是同时也给几个wet-lab的分析一些chip-seq，CLIP这些data,她说分析别人的data都
是routine method,但是她自己的学生都是要做新method. 所以就目前来说，我的背景
无法加入她的lab.她建议我先修一下bioinfo和system bio的课程在第二年，然后有了
wet-lab之后，可以来她的dry lab做个summer rotation学学programing之类的。
我第一年也在一个大牛的wet-lab里面做rotation,我的project就是bisulfate-seq.但
是我做的就是准备工作，后期用mi-seq出来的data是带我的博后自己分析出来的。当时
感觉自己就像是个傻子，除了pcr，cell culture就什么都不知道，计算机一点都不会
，我也是那时候才意识到计算机挺重要的，而且我想以后的我做的wet-lab的实验会涉

发帖数: 486 | 17 楼主是做理论的，他就完全可以只专心作理论并可以做得很好，在不需wet lab的前提
下（不管是发文章还是拿房顶）。
这里涉及到一个做科学的哲学问题。由于我不知道楼主做啥的，我用生物领域里的
bioinformatics 举例说明。
做 Bioinformatics的完全可以不用 wet lab 并可以做得非常好，他们可以拿自己的
R01 （比如全是 cancer genomic analysis) 也可以和做 biology 的一起拿。他们可
以发自己领域的 top journals, 也可以和做 biology 的合作一起发 co-
corresponding CNS paper. 但有些 bioinformatics 做得好的比较 贪（或者说是
ambitious), 还要开 wet lab, 希望从生物信息分析中产生 hypothesis，然后
biology （原本合作的这一部分）一路做到底通吃。但术业有专攻，想 computational
and bench sciences 做得好的极少。最后很可能 bench也做不好，自已最擅长的部分

然后我们看见小区的Incentive加了很多
包括free basement+free wet bar in basement+$7000 towards closing cost
那个basement大概要11000，wet bar 大概3000
我倒是不在乎wet bar,但是finished basement 这个太大了。
我们当时的incentive是9000 closing cost help
这样差不多有10000的差价。
我能不能跟builder要求至少能也给我个free finished basement呢？
有没有人碰到同样的情况啊？

另外，看看房子是否在flooding zone。一般靠wet land比较近的地方地势相对会比较
低。问问房主是否有flood的history，地下室墙上是否有water mark，以及sump pump. |

严不严重。
1. 房子没盖好前，地下室gliding door外面的水泥平台没有灌得很好，下雨的时候雨
水倒灌进来淹了，不过builder后来重新铺过，算是解决了这个问题。
2 . 93年后院有棵树被风吹倒，砸到屋顶和地下室外墙，各砸出个窟窿，都灌进去些雨
水，保险公司出钱修好了。
3. 屋主说房子盖好3年后发现主卧浴室一面墙墙体变软，同时有carpenter ants出没，
拆了发现wet wood, builder把它换成concrete board. 然后十几年间在房子的其它角
落，比如厨房greenhouse window, family room patio door 附近，时而会看见蚂蚁。
他们做过pest control，换了新greenhouse window和一些外墙。据她自己讲carpenter
ants are indicator for wet wood, 治好了反而没法预测家里其它地方有wet wood了。

全美有7个州是dry state，包括Arizona, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Nevada,
Oregon和Washington。Dry的意思中文就是“墨迹已干”。以买房贷款为例，其允许贷
款文件的签字日在closing之前。在这种情况下，lender需要你先签好字之后，把签字
的原文件寄到lender的funding department，他们查看无误了以后才能放款（有极少数
银行不需要），这中间又要耽误几天时间，所以你的agent会催你早一两天签好。
而wet state的wet字面就是墨迹未干，一般其要求签字日和放款日（closing）是同一
天，你当天签字之后，lender最多只看一下传真或者email过去的复印件就能够放款
close了。Title公司在close之后再把原件给寄给lender。

有4张。
从第五天晚上到第六天早上大概12小时的时间内，一共胸喂4次，每次10到20
分钟，其中两次还补充了泵出的奶（一次15ml，另一次10ml）。但是既没有
wet diaper也没有soiled diaper。
按理说，第5、6天应该有6-8片wet diaper，3-5片soiled diaper吧。
像我家宝宝这种情况，难道是说她没有吃饱、还是有其它什么问题？是否需要

就是婴儿配方奶粉了. 因为一直决定母乳喂养，这个research作得最少. 只知道好几种
畅销品牌，比如similac，Enfamil，nestle，gerber，etc. 其实各种牌子，差别应该
不大，都是按指标配出来的么. 每种牌子还有不同的细类. 可能还分不同的stage，给
年龄不一的小宝吃.
奶粉先不买呢. 去它们厂家的网站注册，会收到样品. 医院应该也有样品. 够用一阵子
了. Research我以后用得着再作吧. 现在能懒一点是一点拉.
不过记得从哪儿看来过一条有用信息，说是一个宝宝本来喝similac的，后来便秘拉，
换Enfamil就好了. 所以我暂时倾向Enfamil现在.
VI．Diapers and related:
1．Diapers:
纸尿裤是也. 不同大小的宝宝用不同size的尿裤: newborn，1，1-2，3，4,…每种尿裤
都标明了适用于多重的宝宝. Newborn的是给刚出生的宝宝用的,比别的size都贵.一般
医院会送一些.然后看不同宝宝的长势需要几十到100多片不等. 尽管1号的也可以给新

发帖数: 447 | 31 娃快七个月了，突然前段时间生病着凉开始，导致了一系列的咳嗽，吐奶，loose poop
，weezing, 这些都有相应的treatment, 看完医生后买药治疗都还能应付的过来。
关键的问题是，突然开始死活不爱吃bottle了。送daycare几个月了，从小就一直能吃
bottle，但是最近在学校一天就只能被老师逼着喂到3oz最多，白天就1到2个wet
diaper. 吃辅食都还算正常（因为milk吃得少，现在一天要吃至少三次辅食）。在家用
勺子喂，用杯子喂，勉强能喂一点。妈妈亲自喂也还行（不如以前顺，但现在是唯一
liquid来源了，娃也知道要珍惜）。
问过医生，医生查不出什么毛病。而且24小时有5到6个wet diaper（晚上回家能喝奶拉
尿（虽然每次量不多））。没有其他脱水的症状。
现在的烦恼是，双方都要工作。可是daycare以关心娃的健康为由（吃奶太少，容易
fuzzy，尿布不湿，容易脱水），要劝退娃或者要我们领会家训练一段时间，或者要娃
妈每天daycare去亲自喂几次。daycare懒得用勺子杯子喂奶，嫌不卫生或者费时间。

发帖数: 1498 | 45 sprint距离：800yard开放水域游泳，16mile自行车，3mile trail run
早上4点起来，开了90mile，然后set up。8点开始。
游泳：这是第二次穿wet suit游open water。不习惯脖子被wet suit紧紧卡住的感觉，
平时在泳池里是三下换一口气，穿了wet suit只能两下换一次了，而且很难看到浮标在
哪里，不时地得停下来找方向。
骑车：开始2 miles是顶风，巨慢，而且心跳很快但是spin cadence 上不去，感觉很
shitty不过过了1/3就好多了， 超了不少人，也被不少人超
跑步：刚从车上下来的时候，感觉小腿肚子像要抽筋的感觉，估计在车上没喝够，所以
头一mile只能小碎步。路上被很多40-50岁的大叔超了。
总体感觉：整个race里面其本没有down time，心跳头半程一直在170以上，后半程165
以上。transition容易浪费很多时间，但是脑部缺血的时候手脚快不起来。 |

如果买wet suit 也要注意它的水温rating，如果太薄也不一定能让你承受冷水。 |

1. 不可靠性的来源：
当过兵的同学可以证实一下，新兵训练营里面最终要一堂课就是怎么清洁自己的武器。
美国也好，中国也好，当兵的没有事情就在擦枪，直到今天美国陆战队的新兵营里也有
连续3天教新兵怎么保养武器。所以合理的保养自己的武器，是所有持枪者应该有的觉
悟。你要想枪拿起来就能扣响，那么你一定要保养的你武器。
60年代， M16开始换装的时候，美军认为这个武器非常先进，基本不需要清洁，开始发
放的时候连基本的保养工具都没有带，所以M16刚刚投入使用的时候故障频频。但是这
个问题很快就被纠正过来，美军专门发放了小册子和保养工具给每个士兵，所以M16又
可以可以得到保养了。这个事件你可以问任何一个越南老兵，他们在巡逻结束之后，必
然开始保养武器。越战后期，M16A1投入使用的时候，M16已经被普遍接受了。很多M16
会出故障的情况，其他武器系统也会出故障。枪膛进沙，进异物，Ak-47,M24,M14都会
卡，不信你自己试试。

发帖数: 621 | 49 Eldorado /Inspiration —— 这个地方和所有的TR上说的一样，美得没法形容。是个
看山的去处。而且summit的Knife Edge，没的说是一绝。
不过，出了snow的下山的一路实在是unreasonable。可恨的是，我的rope leader，
Linda，她glacier climbing竟然拿了个11mm的普通rock rope，还不是dry！到了camp
就扔给我背，50米的绳子，再加上吸得水，五一直背完了所有的boulder crossing. 给
了Greg给背到TH。那会已经是6 hours after glacier，the rope was still wet, wet
, and wet!
Greg还是很发指的。Eldorado呀，他竟然背了个car camping的折叠椅。我们一路
approaching，一停下来，他就把他的folding chair拿出了坐着！到了camp，竟然更发
指的坐在chair上边观风景，边抽cigar，边品着wine！ |

发帖数: 17993 | 50 一到七月四号的大热天，我又跑到南犹他火辣辣的沙漠地带去了，去年我和Shrily去的
Arches 国家公园和Canyonlands 国家公园，今年伊没去，不知在哪里逍遥。Zion国家
公园与Arches，Canyonlands，Bryce Canyon这三个犹他附近的国家公园不同的是虽然
同处沙漠地带，Zion却有更丰富的河流和水源探险地。
第一天在Zion坐着公园里的旅游班车把每一个风景点都看了看，走了些半迈，一个迈，
两个迈的风景线，拍了些到此一游的照片，在Virgin river里玩了玩水。除了玩水，
Weeping rock我还比较喜欢。Weeping rock能一览峡谷远景，在炎热的夏天里是一块避
暑的清凉地。Zion 国家公园的山看着都很陡峭，直上直下的。石头看着手感不错，是
个攀岩的好手就想试一试的。不过倒没见到攀岩的人在岩石挂着，可能天气太热，太阳
太大，石头太烫了吧？！
话说无限风光在险峰，地面看风景看得不过瘾，我们跑山顶去看，跑谷底去看。在Zion
，正是山顶和谷底都有风景的地方。山顶就是Zion有名的Angle's Landing trail了。
