what are you talking about? parse in the tax breaks/GM incentives, a basic
configuration volt is already close to $20k today (at least in CA/MA/CO and
other 5 states). This does not even count the ~$1000-$1500/year gas savings,
super-low maintenance cost and minimum wearing (for example: http://gm-volt.com/forum/showthread.php?133042-brakes ). |

incentives.
I could have shaved another $1000 if I read about the Chevy private cash

depends on how fast the EV market progresses. It has rumored that Volt II
coming next year will be 3k-4k cheaper in msrp than Volt I. 3 years later,
they can only be cheaper with more choices. However, the uncertainty is that
, if the market is growing well, some of the incentives will disappear. |

another note, from every source I read, Volt I is widely regarded as an "
over engineered" (in the positive sense) car by GM - GM invested hugely in
this car and made it its technology "moonshot", but GM does not market it
widely because it loses money for every Volt sold. Apparently, there has to
be a significant cost reduction for later models to be profitable. It is
unclear yet whether this can be achieved through technology advance alone,
or in combination with reduced material cost. |

我知道当时买车的时候肯定是有7500-10000的tax credit,所以很多new energy的used
car贬值比较厉害。
我买车喜欢买顶配,所以让我现在去买volt新车,顶配估计也至少38-39k吧,tax
credit顶多把什么desination fee之类的cover。
请问单纯从车子本身来说,这些个电车二手能买么(电池什么都在保内)。另外这个时
候还是遵循汽油车二手的规律么:dealer trade-in价格算是好价格了?

clear the 14/15 models, you should be able to get $10k of msrp easily.
for 14/15 volt with everything, 40k msrp, subtracting 10k dealer/chevy
discount, subtracting $7.5k federal credit (in MA, you get $2.5k rebate),
that gives you $20k+TTL.
once all 14/15 models are sold out, buying a used volt is a good option,
because of the minimal wearing of the drivetrain. |

价格。 原价3 万7。 GM给了4500 rebate。 Dealer又降了3千多, 最后不到3万。
还有Fed 7500 rebate, 和 Mass 2500 rebate。最后相当于不到两万买的。
纯用电, Volt可以走40 mile 左右。 用完电, 烧油。 车很安静。 这里是一部分

plus federal tax credit and state incentives, should be well below $20k.
as a reference, for both my gen1 and gen2 volt, I got ~6000 off msrp. I
consider mine as very good pricing at the time. |

lease的话,有的地方说可以,有的说不行。State的话,另有2500的rebate,自己去申
请,和deal无关(无论loan,lease都有)。
今天去了dealer, lease details:
MSRP: $33,900 --> net cap $29,600
Residual 55%
最后36month 0 down, $312/mo
大家认为这个价钱合理吗? 我想说leasing company拿得到那7500的tax refund,我就
没有benefit吗? 但是问了lease过volt的朋友,也差不多都是这个价钱,所以请大家
给个建议。

I actually like the interior of the Gen2 volt a lot. I test drove an MB B-
class ED years ago, it has both wood and leather, as most people define as a
"luxurious" interior, but it is not my cup of tea. I like modern and
minimalism designs (something like BMW i3's interior)
the gen 2 volt has a clean and functional interior. that's all that matters
for a commuter's car. the touch screen and android auto/carplay are most

不算最好的deal,但是懒得再花时间磨叽了。去之前准备好excel,该输入的事先都都
输入好。到了dealer直接打开给sales一看,礼貌的请他直接谈sale price,不要扯别
的。我要12%off, sales磨叽了一会儿最后给了11%off成交。dealer还帮着申请了$1500

the charge door button on the volt was removed in MY 2014 and later. the
charge door becomes push-open-push-close.
the volt does not have illuminated charge port until MY 2016 (as a $200
option), but I believe Tesla has it since the beginning. |

等红灯,前面没车,我把自己的volt调到sport档。红灯变绿这哥们又一阵猛踩油门先
跑出去,我也猛踩,安静地超过了他,他不甘心发动机声音更大了,在速度到45的时候
超上来了,然后就到那条路的限速五十了,然后volt也开始提速变慢了,索性减速小人

machines here use 120 volt AC and China is 220 volt. I am not sure if a
voltage adapter would help. Have anybody had successful experience on using
