八年前的这个季节，从国内来到美国。来美前，博士毕业后在一研究所工作了近5年。
期间主持完成了自己的第一个NSFC课题。由于不喜欢那里的小环境，离开那里后到西北
一大学工作。幸运的是，在那里又拿到了第二个NSFC课题，加上省部和学校的资助，支
起了还算小有起色的一摊子。虽然那的科研条件比原单位差一些，但一个人在那干了近
三年的时间，教书、带研究生、作科研，每天忙碌着，干着自己愿意干的事，少了原单
位的勾心斗角，而且在学生面前第一次觉得自己还是个有用之人，所以也很快乐。无奈
的是，老婆不喜欢那个地方，不肯搬过去。那时，老婆家人从一个朋友处得知美国这边

工薪有娃族没有时间去hearing, 就容易被人盯上猛开罚单.
跟office里土著complain, 人说你一定要去hear, 但是来回带等至少４个小时还是
work day. 能请假的日子连娃的学校vocation day都应付不过来, 也只能认了.

美军「紧缺人才征兵计划」MAVNI（Military Accessions Vital to the National
Interest）继去年徵召60名中英双语华裔后，今年将继续徵召30名华裔，即日起接受报
名，过去两年在美合法居住、无永久居民身分的17至34岁半华裔，均有机会通过加入美
国陆军的方式，跳过绿卡申请程序，快速成为美国公民。
美国陆军圣盖博谷徵兵处艾尔蒙地办公室华裔上士桑迪30日透露，继2009年和2012
年之后，今年是陆军第三次开放MAVNI计画，此次徵召的基本要求为17至34岁半之间，
男女不限，至少高中或以上毕业，通常学历愈高愈有竞争力，今年中／粤、英双语人才
计画招收30人，一旦军中招收到足够的适用人才，计画将自动关闭，去年60个名额在不
到三个月时间内招满，因此对此计画有兴趣的申请人，行动要趁早。
