Higher strength, higher hardness, generally. You can't use hardness number
in simulation and there are micro and macro hardness testing methods.
strength is a general term, there are yield strength, ultimate tensile
strength, etc usually measured by tensile test. Stress-strain curve is the
basic requirement to run simulation.
Brittle = poor toughness.
Ductile generally means good elongation in tensile test, not necessil |

行程顺利，旅馆舒适，医院漂亮，伙食不错，但是，interview的过程真是艰难。
5个interviewee,我是最老的一个。其他四个都是AMG,Fresh的简直不能再Fresh了，还
有一个还正在那个医院rotation。看着他们，我顿时自我感觉矮了一截。不过转念一想
，既然我来了，即使不能说明我们在一个起跑线上，但是最起码也说明我们在一个跑道
，我还有拼一把的机会。
从头到尾没见着PD,我和那个名校毕业的AMG都是面试这个program以前的 旧PD,只见一特和蔼老头来招
呼我进办公室。我一看，心里还挺开心，这么慈祥的长者，应该搞定！
没想到悲剧开始了。
先是简单问问我为什么research, 为什么又不做了。
接下来就着重强调他认为我的前程异常tough.因为 我毕业久，gap 大，又是外国学生
，什么什么的，说得很慢，但是说了很久。我说，“虽然我有什么多issue,但是我既然
来了坐在这里，肯定有什么东西是你们喜欢的，感兴趣的。”他不置可否。
老人家继续说，哎呀，你看美国学生吧，学校我们都了解，知道好坏，你们外国的学校

2. In that particular case: the old guy did not sound happy with the current
recruiting process. On the other way, it means that there should be someone
in the committee strongly favor the current process.
4. Argueing with him would only give him more gun powerder, let him release

discouraging even for an Amberican guy.
A white fresh phD has some patents and also several publications, failed to
get an offer from either a big company or a small startup. The most probable

still out of position. JTs is fine to call IMO. I may actually fold JTo
in early positions, especially with deep stack, position is the key.
For example, suppose you hit a top pair, but sb or bb bets, do you call?
It's tough, cause if you call, you may face a big raise from the raiser.

昨天见到了庄小威。

我们正在吃饭，她迎面走来，坐在我对面，旁边陪着一位本地的中国女教授。会已经开
了一半，她是被请来的演讲人。
近距离地看，人显得很苍老，话不多，态度却很温和，甚至有一点羞怯，英语似乎不太
好，总像一边说一边在想词。虽然近在咫尺，我也没有搭话，不知道说什么。
下午第一个就是她讲。站在讲台上，她立刻变了个人。一回到科学里，她就完全自如了
。英语也完全变了，事实上我从没在理工科的国人里遇到英语如此好的，文科中也只见
过一个，口音很轻，吐词极其清晰，语调极其流畅，语法准确，而且用词还非常优雅。
不可思议，从生活话题到科学话题的转变，一般人的语言水准是倒过来的。
因为是有关探测手段的会，所以集中讲的是她发明（同时还有其他人独立发明）的那个
著名的单分子荧光方法，对于她这是很旧的东西了。这个技术本身虽然很聪明，且极有
