大名鼎鼎的John Muir （1834-1914） 写了一本书，描写他几
次探访阿拉斯加的经历。据介绍他于1879年首次去阿拉斯加，发现了Glacier Bay，后
人以他命名的地方有：阿拉斯加的Muir Glacier，加利福尼亚的John Muir Trail,
John Muir History Site in Martinez 以及Muir Woods National Monument.

训练：
波马破三的高兴和激动持续了不到两小时就结束了。这以后的铁人训练也一直不给力，
直到铁熊猫发现我的P4车架上有裂纹，让我意外地升级成了P5。装上Power2Max的
powermeter后跟Kevin的MTG（Markham Tri Group）骑了一次长的，加上从我家去
Markham，共125公里，那次ride成了今年的唯一一次赛前long ride。而后因为回国中
断了训练，只在重庆的酷暑里跑了一次23.4公里，那也就成了波马后唯一一次超过半马
距离的long run。
虽然没有long ride和long run，但是回加后骑车/跑步一直没有中断。由于LD怀上了老
三，所以晚上和周末的训练通通取消，唯一能训练的时间就是早上和commute的时间。
于是原来每周五次的bike to work变成了三天打鱼两天晒网，既一三五骑车来回50公里
，二四跑步去地铁站来回20公里。愿望里是每天早上早起去游泳，但是现实是每周游个
三四次就很不错了。

我前一段买了一个一百六的，当时正是清仓，一般零售价在两百八左右
牌子是the north face，款是kestrel，google上可以搜到
spects: 3 season, 2 pole (+1 for fly), 2 person, dome tent
用的感觉还不错，睡两个正好，没碰上雨，防水性还不知道
一般来说backpacking tent有dome和tunnel两种
我以前用过两只tunnel tent
第一个用的是alpine tent，真正高山用的，是朋友的
牌子是macpac，www.macpac.co.nz
从材料到制作都很牛，价钱也不菲，但质量没的说
下大雨的时候感觉tent都漂在水上，但里面一滴水都不透
另一个也是tunnel tent，是我后来买的，牌子一般，3 season，价钱便宜

6/28 去camping， 第一次打开。
（tent是湿的， 臭了。 tent poles 不见了）
现场有20+人次可以做证。
只好睡在别人的tent里。
7/5 去退tent。 不让，说是用过了。打他们cooperation的电话也没用。
真的是气死了。
看来只好small claim court见了。
刚才先给他们寄了个30days demand letter。
谁有经验？或好律师推荐？

去年比赛完第二天就报了名再次参加今年的Ironman Mont Tremblant翠湖山庄铁人赛。
本来志气高昂地要每项提高15分钟，结果当然是事与愿违。一个冬天游泳和跑步训练都
进行的很好，可是老三出生后就一夜回到解放前。虽然5K比赛小PR了，但是5月的多伦
多马拉松却撞墙了，比去年波马慢了整整20分钟。还好6月的Welland半铁破5了，还给
今年的赛事带来一点点乐观。
今年IMMT的另一个值得盼望的是今年我忽悠了一群朋友一起比赛，还有朋友专程从美国
赶过来加油助威，所以将是北美华人铁三界的一个巨大盛事。
还是先说说训练，其实很简单，就是“不够”两字。自行车唯一的long ride就是
Welland半铁的90公里，而跑步自多马后也没有跑过多少长的，最长也只有26公里，还
跑得巨慢。唯一有信心的就是游泳，特别是在年初那阵子，觉得自己1：15都有可能游
出来了。夏天多次开水游和比赛后，给自己定的一个务实的目标是1：20，因为训练时4
公里只需1：20，1：21左右。考虑到比赛时游歪一点儿，游3.9到4公里，那么1：20也
不是不可能达到的。

Pros:
+ fits standard king size air mattress (or 2x twin)
+ smallers space to heat up. The tent is much warmer than the outside
temperature which is great because my 2 kids won't sleep in sleeping bags.
+ light weight. Space saving. Meets luggage dimension requirement for air
travelling.

out. I have never used a tent that I can put up by myself.
I haven't seen a tent top that is not water resistant. so don't worry about
that. but they are always wet to the touch from inside. I don't think there
is any waterproof tent top. the bottom is waterproof though. look for one
with base extended at least 3 to 5 inches above ground so that water doesn't
flow in from the mesh sides. happened to me once. sucked.

大概有１０个左右的cravasse，早点出发，过snowbridge安全，走起来也轻松，而且也
有人照应

最后一晚，LD和生病的我回curry village camping.我took Nyquil,８点就睡死了。直
到２点，头左边被隔着tent给hit了一下。彻底给醒了。立马听到tent外animal run
away的声音。
我问LD那是啥。LD迷糊着说是风。我觉得，哪有这大的风呀？
几分钟后，隔壁的tent也被hit.一侧的pole给打坏了。
于是，大家都在tents里大声叫，把那个bear给赶走了，到天亮都没回来。 |

1。超重型：主要是家庭帐，一般是用于car camping，特点是大，有的还有几个房间，
非常重。拆装一般比较困难，需要二人以上合作。在帐篷中一般放cot或者air matress
。是一家老小露营的上佳选择。
价位从百多元到几百元不等。便宜的一般有漏水怕风的弱点。由于其体积庞大，不适合
在大风天气用。
有一次，一群朋友去露营，结果风雨大作，凡是用家庭大帐的都被刮翻，但是用小背包
帐的都安然无恙。这种帐可以带被子等入住。
2。背包帐：分1人帐到3人帐，轻，但是小，小到什么程度：2人帐一般睡一个人舒服。
睡两个人翻身都困难。3人帐睡2人稍好。一般配充气气垫或者泡沫垫。便宜的是单层，
好一点的都是两层。内帐是纱网之类防蚊虫，外帐防水。内外帐之间一般有空间可放装

players.
I always thought When I hit it too hard, I hit it out. Now I think I was
wrong.
I over heard a coach teaching a HS player last week. He said "hit it as
hard as you can with good top spin. The harder your hit, the more top spin
you have. You will not hit it out. Trust me and trust your strokes." It is
so common sense, but I was not thinking that way.

发帖数: 458 | 42 camp在many glacier的campground，我们2个人，晚上有点冷。15F的睡袋+coleman的4
person sundome tent可能不够，我们最后是在coleman的tent里面搭了tnf的tent才暖
和。早上，鹿就在tent旁边跑来跑去。估计是以前有人留下过食物，所以每天早上这群
鹿就过来check。many glacier区域的熊比较多，山坡上经常能看到。first come
first serve的campground比较tricky，在每个site的边上有一个柱子，上面有一个黄
色的标签，写着这个site比用到什么时候。如果今天，这个site里面的人要离开，那么
柱子上没有这个黄色的标签（campground host一大早，就把这个黄色的标签收走了）
。所以你到了以后，就找柱子上没有标签的site，然后在刚进campground的地方拿信封
和黄色的标签，黄色的标签有两联，一模一样，上面包括你的信用卡信息，住几天等。
你把两张都填好，一张放进信封，扔到campground进门的箱子里，另外一张挂到site边
上的柱子上，这个site就是你的（晚点r |

不少research，但还是有一些问题希望请教一下：
1. 我们是飞机直接飞到idoha fall，camping所有行李需要打包。在考虑体积和实用性
的前提下，tent买什么价位的比较合适？coleman sundome 这种$50左右的还是marmot
这种$250左右的？顺便说一下，我不是户外fan，以后预计一年1~2次camping，并且除
非是飞黄石这种，一般car camping就足够了，所以个人倾向买便宜的tent，但又怕便
宜的不好用，影响体验。
2. Tent一般都要配个footprint以延长tent使用寿命吧？我看amazon带品牌的
footprint都很贵，$30+，请问有什么其他好的替代品吗？如果有的话，购买时需要注
意什么？
3. camping时吃的方面，因为那边的camp site配了烤架，能买到fireswood，所以不
打算专门带户外的炉子过去了（锅自己带）。因为也从没有用过户外的炉子，不知道会
不会比烤架方便很多？

问题是桌子太矮，我打算换个正儿八经的，然后把三脚架用上。。类似下面这种哪儿能
买到。。
lighting kit将就能用，除了感觉不太亮之外其他都还好，最后拉拉曲线就好了。。

这次天气晴好，很多地方都不用crampon，我穿的super gaiter的boot也太热了
大概有１０个左右的cravasse，早点出发，过snowbridge安全，走起来也轻松，而且也
有人照应
如果你是和我一样的天气去，少带衣服，多带水，大概每１小时吃一个energy bar补充
体力
一罐气刚刚好够２人化雪煮吃的，刚好完全用完
防晒，防晒，防晒！我已经每几个小时补了防晒霜,一有空就拿个防晒sticker在脸上乱
涂一通了，可是上山和下山肤色还是差太多了！
