I'm pushing 70 and today I spoke on the phone with my 94 year old mother as
I do 3 times a week.
The tenor of today's 1 hour 20 minute phone call from her perspective was
essentially "What happened to the Country? I don't understand. I don't
recognize anything about it anymore".
I told her to forget about it, that it would only get worse and to be
grateful for our memories of what America once was.

昨晚老板请客， 在他们家的草地上吃BBQ， 玩了那种类似GOLF的球
(FORGET THE NAME)， 结果我是最后一个 Reach Destination 的,
好美景。
老板的家在一个削平的山坡上， 能远远的见到Ohio River, 很好的
风景。
晚了得时候还点起了火。玩得很高兴,好像是第一次见到原来想象中
的美国.
老板是那种很SUCESSFUL 的那种， 应该不到40把， TENOR 有了，公
司也开过了，
钱赚了不少，不过还是那样忙忙碌碌，没太多时间管我们。他也是很
FAMILY 的

老板是南韩的， 小时候随父母到CANADA。 我们也说起了韩战， 韩

Third, the white elephant in the room is that the basic tenor of 80-20 is

黑人强在节奏感，不过实际上白人节奏感差得也不是太多，Blue-eyed soul。
音域音色方面，黑人主要是强在 mezzo，soprano 和 tenor 啥的还是白人的多。

介绍下lz背景：
1. 女性，年龄30出头，出国三年左右，在国内和美国都工作过
2. 目前无业待产
3. 人生最大兴趣，吃喝玩乐加八卦 -- 所以不顾自己大腹便便，坚持各种逛街狂吃
吃：主要考察了各种暗黑料理（小龙虾，鸭血粉丝汤之类）以及中档饮食店（shopping
mall里面的那种，俏江南，张生记之类），没去特别高大上的地方。主要感觉：
1. 黑暗料理正规化。相比以前主要是在街边的苍蝇馆子吃这些东西，现在都有装修及
卫生情况看上去不错的小吃店在经营这些生意。Either是原来的苍蝇馆子做大了之后进
行装修改进，either是新的饮食店引进了原有的黑暗料理并且将制作工序正规化。价格
么，当然比原来是贵了不少，现在鸭血粉丝汤一碗13块，三年前似乎7块左右。不过吃
起来相对放心而且口感有保证。
2. 中档馆子品牌化。去了三个城市的shopping mall，每个城市mall里面的饮食店品牌
都差不多是那几个，无论是川菜，本帮菜，火锅，日式料理甚至是甜点，以前觉得有点

reviewer work provides moderate evidence。最后总结来了个fair，把我弄的很糊涂

It was playing the #9's finale Ode to Joy, but hadn't reached the vocal part
yet.
When I reached my destination, I stayed in my car until the Tenor part
finished singing.
I had a strange, but peaceful and indeed slightly elevated feeling. It has

开始提到“迫害”和“压迫”。每一次当声乐敲击到这些词时，一些观众就开始收拾东
西，朝出口处走去。
不久，是一幕芭蕾舞演出，三名女子被一群官员送入大牢，其中一人被杀害，在这
一幕的结束时，有越来越多的观众，三四人一批以及大批人开始退场。在演出中场，数
十人一群，也许有好几百人一群陆续离场。
他们已意识到，这一节目不只是庆祝中国新年，而是在中国被禁止的法轮功的活动

，直接切入正题。不过在宣布结果之前，我想先讲个小故事：
前苏联大文豪，诺贝尔奖得主索忍尼尔琴在成名之前，也常投稿到当时著名的杂志如《
新文艺》。一位《新文艺》的编辑后来回忆道：“我通常都会把收到的投稿带回家，晚
上睡觉前躺在床上看，这对于我的失眠症有很大的帮助。但当我看到索忍尼尔琴的《丹
尼索维奇的一天》的时候，只看了两页，我就觉得不能躺在床上看。我走下床来，穿上
我的燕尾礼服，拿出最好的香槟酒，坐在书桌前以虔诚恭谨的心情，一页一页地读完索
忍尼尔琴的手稿。”
不过这故事与我们的征文没有关系，我没想要穿西装打领带。好，评委的推荐结果是：
