如果真的是如楼上的推测的话，当然不能答应，问题是，事情到底如何还没弄清楚。不
要写email，当面问那个老师。第一句话必须是：I would be very happy to support
your application. 无论你后面怎么说，这句一定要有（除非你明年跳槽）。
然后问她，这一个学生的钱是哪里来的，因为我觉得很有可能（对一个精神正常的PI来
说），在一个grant里面提到多少学生，基本上都是由这个grant来support的。否则你
不可能让别的grant来出钱来support你自己的grant里的学生这是不合法的。例外是有
些grant要求cost share，但是也不可能只出1200. 我觉得你很可能误会这人了。
最后再问，这个学生是她选，你带，还是你自己选，或者你们共同找一个都满意的。这
些本来都是可以协商可以讨价还价的事情。我不是针对楼主，但是我在美国这些年发现
很多同胞在类似的事情上有个特点，就是遇到不清楚的事，不是去问当事人，而是自己
瞎捉摸，或者来这里问（这里毕竟不可能知道细节）。你就算是最终要拒绝此人，也应

秋季学期老板给2个月准备一个系里比较重要的考试，但是没考过，老板非常失望，昨
天通知我明年不会给我support,而且建议我一年以后退学找工作，当然我可以换老板和
transfer学校，但是预计有financial support的很难找到。。。而且老板的方向系里
只有他一个在做，其他都差的挺远
TA的话，个人的英语水平问题。。估计一年内难过英语考试
打算转Master,家里可以勉强支持我一年，但是系里卡的比较紧，不很容易，
和老板谈了转Master的意向，他不建议，说让我好好在lab里呆上半年（不用选课），
学些东西,这个方向以往就业还不错，但是现在这个形势下应该也不会太好
目前自己也倾向于呆Lab干活，同时找工作
但是对于找工作没有一点准备，英语也是大问题，而且拿国内的master学位在这边找工
作，公司会承认么，H1B也不好搞吧？

我的情况是J-1还有1年时间，所以老板不会帮我转H－1。他不愿意写什么support
letter，而且他是个实在人，不做的事情不愿意写在信里的。我的location属于纽约总
领馆。
Q1：看过本版一些内容，说中方领馆要求的聘书，可以是offer letter，这个我可以提
供，如此就可以不提供support letter了。不知道我这个理解对不对？
Q2：在向DOS递交材料时，是否一定需要老板的support letter？还是可以用offer
letter？
Q3：如果一定要写offer letter可以不提支持换H－1吗？一定要写“工作还有好多年，
不waiver就不能完成”之类的理由吗？毕竟我只有1年工作时间了，老板不愿意写这种
假话。我该怎么处理比较好呢？怎样写会含糊一点，又不影响成功waiver呢？

Trader Support一般是Middle office或者Back office,也就是确保交易员执行的trade
s可以完整的完成流程，包括记录position，计算profit & loss，还有和counterparty
/exchange的settlement，以及所以IT infrastructure上的support.
你所描述的role我认识是比较好的位置，可以直接帮trader做分析,提供方向性的意见，
比如说是买还是卖。在这个位子上的人，如果喜欢刺激，可以尝试成为trader，如果你
比较倾向于安稳的话，也可以成为senior research analyst，是个可以按时上下班的工
作。

向给过我发review机会的editor发信要support letter,大约4，5个杂志 （每个至少审
过3次），结果是有一个编辑最近很nice的给我回信说好，因为度假晚了回复，然后发
过来了签字的letter
问题是其他的editor就没有回音了，有一个说不认识我，不能提供；意识到他可能误解
是RL，就回信委婉的解释了，但是没有下文了；因为其他的editor也没有回复，所以大
约十天后发email再问，委婉说明就是1页的support letter,非RL，大家还是不回复
问题是他们就再不发review给我了!(要letter前一般每月给我发的。)难道要support
letter就得罪他们了吗？我还想再积累些review的呀，这种情况怎么办？我应该发
email说不要信了，只要继续给我review就行了?

发帖数: 117 | 49 一个副主编基本按照我的draft写了support letter，重要字眼如下，看上去还不错，
top一类的词都有了。大家看看如何。他问了几个问题，(1) what the address he
should use in the letterhead, (2) whether he should attach a copy of his
updated biosketch, and (3) how he should send it to me, like signatures...?
还有一个重要问题，他说对我的研究很熟悉，他对我还没发表的工作评价说是
breakthrough...因为我给过他一个将要举行的conference的oral presentation
abstract （publicly available online），和几个还没submit的paper drafts'
titles。这个会不会有问题？IO会不会奇怪他怎么能知道还没发表的工作是break
through？有没有必要加上他怎么认识我--但其实我都没见过他，纯邀请审稿而已，虽

发帖数: 108 | 50 我5月18号efile 140，EB1A， 系统显示成功提交，给出了Receipt Number SRCxxxxxxx
, 但是PDF Confirmation Receipt Notice没有出来。这个Confirmation Receipt
Notice 是不是下一步提交supporting document 必须的？还是提交文件时只要告诉他
们Receipt Number就够了？这种情况下怎么提交supporting document？发了email 给
USCIS一直没回音，I797估计要很久才能收到。据说efile之后7天就要寄supporting
document。肿么办？ |
