刚从Mall出来，在停车场倒车，当时也是开了一天车太累了，然后倒车的时候没注意就
碰到人家停着的车上了。当时没意识到撞了人家的车还是怎么回事，以为是后备箱没关
好，于是下来看了下自己的车，看到自己的车没问题就走了。
十天以后收到警察的Note和电话，说是regarding to that car accident，结果当
天晚上十二点多赶去警察局做了笔录。警察问我之前是什么情况，我就说我在倒车，
然后可能撞到了东西。警察问我为什么走了，我说我不知道应该做什么，（因为对方的
车上也没人，而且我没意识到会有多么严重）然后警察就给我发了Misdemeanor
Summons.我觉得很对不起Victim然后就跟警察说让他可以把我的联系方式给victim然后
我可以给她赔偿。
警察给我发Misdemeanor Summons的同时告诉我12月29日要上court，当时我就他这
个算不算criminal，他说不算，不会有任何问题，我最多只会交100多的罚款然后所有

看热闹的，就没去买license。钓到一半两师兄去买东西了，留我一人在那看渔具。怪
我手贱，心想要不练练抛竿吧，就那么甩了四五下，别说钓到鱼了，都没抛出过3米远
。转头赫然看见conservation officer，问我有license没，我说没有，就要了我的
driver license给我开了张summon，要我某某日去court，然后说如果没去会怎么怎么
样云云。然后又在summon上写了个电话，说只要在上庭日之前打这个电话就没事了。还
说他没写我无证钓鱼，只写了我没带证，虽然summon上写的是fishing w/o a valid
license. 我回来查了下那个电话，是当地court的contact number。因为从来没钓过鱼
，也没接到过summon，一时不知道该怎么办。求助版上各位大神，拜谢~ |

Usually, this means your son will receive a summons/complaint in the mail.
The timing can vary, it can be relatively short or months before your son
receives the summons/complaint. Your son was correct in stating they could
hold him for 36 hours prior to release. I highly suggest that your son
retain an attorney when he is served with the summons and complaint. Your
son should not speak with police or the prosecutor without an attorney
present.

我其实被summon过了无数回。
早年是绿卡， 直接一个电话回掉。 后来是用小孩waive掉了两次。 等自己真有空了，
想去做反而轮不上了。
我早年还去过一次jury的， 那时候也不想做。 跟传说一样的，想着进去直接说I hate
xxx就可以被dismiss了。
结果进去以后根本连什么案子都不知道。 进来一个人连是不是律师都不知道， 给你张
纸让你做几个选择题就一边呆着去了。 根本没有主动表达opinion的机会。
这里老中大多都是道听途说。 jury summon很容易见， 有驾照基本就会收。 一个个收
了俩summon就好像自己做过jury了。 |

有一张纸是court来的，上面还有我们local court的戳，写着：circuit court for xx
city
内容是：
上面有court的法官名字 (clerk of the circuit court)地址还有电话
然后是：
To: xxx
xxxxxxx
You are hereby summoned to file a written response by pleading or motion,
within 30 days after service of this summons upon you, in this court, to the
attached complaint filed by: 原告姓名地址
witness the honorable chief Judge of the xxxxxxxxxxx
然后就是clerk of court的签名和court的邮戳了。

难道我们的GC不是因为WOM？ 还是FBI收到summons主动就把namecheck clear了，

被serve了，他的情况和你的遭遇相似，就是罚单被放在了门口。除此以外我老真没听
说过送罚单的敢把罚单留在门口的。你这个情况找个律师咨询一下，就告诉律师你在门
口发现的罚单，而不是亲手接到的罚单，不要告诉律师你是不是在家，看律师怎么说。
