This is a very strenuous and advanced dayhike, only limit to those that I
know.
Distance: 23 miles cross-country on very rugged terrain. No established
trail.
Gain: 8,200' total, 6,900' out plus 1,300' on return
Time: 13 hours or more
Suffering: Lots, and I mean lots.
There is no climbing involved, but the ridge gets some steep cliff that you
need to be comfortable hiking around with, other than that, I can't think of
anything dangerous. |

单程4.11迈，加上回程大概10迈左右。这条路大概是最富有乐趣的路线了。朔溪而上，
流水、瀑
布、山石，山花，美景不暇目给。欢迎老hiker加入。此路不宜狗行。
请不要小看了朔溪的4迈和1430 ft的爬升，需要很好的体力和矫健的身手。不建议新手
加入。
必须装备是登山杖，防水鞋，长袖衫，午餐，两瓶水。

发帖数: 4509 | 9 Bright Angel Trail 应该是最短的一条，来回一共 16mi（到colorado河边），4300ft
（先下后上），可以根据体力走其中一部分到 Indian Garden (9mi/2900ft）或者
Plateau Point （12mi/3000ft）。途中Indian Garden等几处有水源。

这个网页上还有其它trail可供参考。要小心大峡谷是先下后上，要比同样数据的一般
先上后下的道明显难一些。另外要注意谷底的温度，一般比rim上要高至少20F。如果不
是有经验的hiker我还是建议穿能保护脚踝的hiking boots（新鞋的话去以前先break
in）。登山杖也会很有帮助。
大峡谷下底对任何人来说都是体力消耗很大的strenuous hike，要量力而行，千万不要
勉强。 |

strenuous也就是坡陡点，加上太阳晒点，比较累人就是了，而且是在有人maintain的
trail上hiking。谁知到还有这样吓人的，人烟稀少，路都被草盖了，还要淌水，这次
我脑子里更新了hiking的定义。知道岛上是没蛇，没有熊的，不然更怕了。
我觉得出事故的那个人，肯定也是和我当时一样，准备不充分，没想到，大意了。

I wouldn't say it's the easiest basic glacier. Emmons is technically much
easier, more strenuous for sure.
It's about 35 degrees towards the top, for about 300 vertical feet. It's a
no fall zone, the run out is bad. It's moderately hard for novices. I never
had to front point. I feel quite comfortable free soloing it. |

Lone peak, a 11,253ft peak, consider one of the most strenuous day hike in
the wasatch area in Utah. The easiest route is from Jacobs ladder trail (at
5600ft) from Draper side.
We originally plan to hike from the recent renovated Orson Smith trailhead
but after asking around we drive another 2~3 miles to reach the Jacobs
ladder trailhead. But the start time is already 8:00AM which is far behind
the 7:00AM plan.

The rim of Bryce canyon is around 8000-9100 ft. The Peekaboo loop is
considered as strenuous because of rapid elevation change of over 1500ft. It
is a spectacular trail though. |

分转了转。
星期五早上8点出发，11 点多到达Humpback Rocks visitor center，拿了地图，就开
始沿Humpback Rocks Trail 向上爬，0.8 mile, 难度属于strenuous,我们走走停停，
用了一个多小时到达顶峰。开始雾很大，远方的景色一点都看不见，等了一阵子，云开
雾散，抓紧捏了几张片子。
