思想斗争改来改去了一两个礼拜，找了一个whiteflash 的 ACA， whiteflash上5颗星星
的。F, VVS2, 0.8 carat, three stone setting. 加上旁边两颗stone (0.25 each, A
CA ideal, F/G, VS) 和setting 差不多7000， 觉得价格还挺可以。用了pricescope
discount, 用了$100 discount. 算是跟信用卡公司和Whiteflash 都确认了。8过要5月
才能收到了。
在BN 和 whiteflash 找预算内的，找不到 HCA 各项都是excellent的。现在这个算出
来小于2，light return 是 excellent 也就认了。cut, poslish, symmetry 都是AGS
ideal. 这颗很好的地方，虽然号称VVS2, 但是inclusion 只有一点点 pin 和 needle,
我在AGS report 都找不到在哪儿。

最近我与我的朋友Steve Nadis写了一本关于哈佛大学数学系历史的书， 由哈佛大学出
版社出版。
这个写作计划开始时，我还是哈佛数学系主任。我对于这个系伟大先驱者的人生颇感好
奇。因为其中有些人藉着他个人的研究甚或透过他们的学生，改变了整个世界数学发展
的路径。
如果其他地方的人，能懂得欣赏这些数学家如何做研究，如何建立起这个优秀的学系，
而且在这段过程裡，还协助建立了哈佛大学的地位，我认为这会是很棒的事。更何况，
这些伟大哈佛数学家的个人轶事，读来也饶有兴味。
我喜欢阅读数学史，认为好数学家需要知道数学的重要概念如何演进。这些概念的演进
充满了生命力，就像从初生婴儿慢慢长大成人的过 程，这段路可能很戏剧化，而且充
满了兴奋与刺激。一旦我们了解数学发展的根源，就更能理解当今数学的发展。我相信

上周末才从迈阿密回来，很累。不过还是趁着新鲜写点东西，希望对准备去Miami,
Everglades
National Park, Key West和Dry Tortugas National Park的朋友们有些帮助。
我相信每个人由于性格和爱好的差异肯定会对不同旅游景点有自己的看法，但是由于在

行之前有些朋友告诉我们Miami/Everglades NP/Key West/Dry Tortugas那里没什么好玩
的，所以我觉得有必要从我的角度先给整个旅程一个总体的评价。LP和我都是比较喜欢
自然风光的
那种人，对人文的东西虽然也喜欢，但是不怎么执著 (后面我会介绍到的)。所以我们

我相信每个人由于性格和爱好的差异肯定会对不同旅游景点有自己的看法，但是由于在
我们这次旅行之前有些朋友告诉我们Miami/Everglades NP/Key West/Dry Tortugas那里
没什么好玩的，所以我觉得有必要从我的角度先给整个旅程一个总体的评价。LP和我都

KEY WEST
1)DUVAL上的ICE CREAM店的KEY LIME味道. 吃过两家, 味道差不多.
虽然KEY WEST的KEY LIME CAKE很有名, 但我不喜欢, 太酸太甜. 反而这个味道的ICE
CREAM非常清新可口, 也是其他城市少见的.
2)Conch Republic Seafood Company
这家店太有名了. 特别推荐一种叫ROYAL RED SHRIMP的虾,出自LOCAL深海. MENU上没有
,但WAITER知道. 价钱是25刀一磅. 如果你像我一样很爱吃虾, 从小到大阅虾无数, 那
我告诉你,这种肉质还真没吃过.
3)Eaton Street Seafood Market
这是一个小型FISH MARKET出售一些RAW的海鲜,和一些半加工和熟食. 如果你已经准备
去吃FL特有的STONE CRAB(每年10月到5月才有), 这里你能买到外面RESTUARANT一半价

成功描述了把一个原来正直勇敢的警察（stone)但是因为被冤枉作了15年监狱从而思想
行动准则发生了根本的变化， 而导致的一系列事件。以前看过黄日华主演的《银狐》
， 也是类似的心理变化。黄日华把握这种转变技巧娴熟， 不露声色。这部电视剧里难
度最大的是stone的角色的刻画。黄日华作的很好。
这个变化就是：在遭到了15年的冤狱之后， stone发现了法制的很多问题。在后来办理
案件中， 很多案件大家都知道罪犯是谁， 但是在现有的法制体系下，就是无法把罪犯
绳之以法， 比如说精神病杀人。那么stone就自己对凶犯进行制裁。这当然不是现有的
法制体系所允许的。矛盾就在这里。
其实《刑警2010》这部电视剧表面上讲述的是个别警察的极端变化， 实际上揭示了现
代法制的局限性， 深度很大。
世界上没有任何事情是完美的， 法制也一样， 漏洞很多。怎么分析呢？
马列主义认为，法律是维护统治阶级的工具。
也就是说， 与正义无关！
统治阶级真正关心的不是正义， 当然他们永远以正义的面目出现。
