天到。结果等到昨天21号还没到货。我昨晚发站内信问为什么还没发货，结果今天收到
这样的邮件回复:"Mom can you get this guy a stinking number??? Hes a real
pain in the ass"。后来又给我发信说是发货了，发的USPS first class，然后又说又
发了一个UV，如果收到两个的话退回来一个。我追问两次的tracking number，再让他
们解释骂人的是怎么回事，结果不回复了。

I don't get it, the folks they hang out with are so much lower in quality
than in a research institution, in terms of everything. i would really feel
uneasy if i had to hang out with such people day to day. and
psychologically there must be a shock initially.
plus, even in "elite" liberal arts colleges (say the Ivy of blablah), where
probably you get paid well, the staff and the whole place just seems to
stink. it just e |

everywhere, not just at Singapore). This doesn't mean above average over
all pre-tenure years, only one or two years before that. There are so
many 新出道的AP and tenured people (who couldn't care less) to drag down
that average that you pretty much have to stink as a teacher to be
kicked out for that.
Personally, I think there is no point in moving to Singapore. If China
is the final destination, why go only half way?

My roommate locks his bedroom even when he takes shower. In his words, he

去年的那个人是个大牛，估计他说不行就直接枪毙了。那个人一进门我就不喜欢，
穿戴像个gay，一进来就问，谁的red bull，it stinks. 我心里说，shit。
嘴上倒是什么都没说。估计一开始双方就dislike each other啦，呵呵。
今年的是个老印，不过没那么牛，但我coding的两轮大概也不是那么bug free，
虽然题都做出来了，问题也都改过来了，不十分出彩吧。
估计因为有人说坏话所以就fail了。

It does not matter so much, if you don't have a lot of cloth to wash,
smaller is better. It is better to do one load per day, most front loading
will smell (stink) if you do not use it often or leave the door open.
As far as brand goes, Miele and Asko brand are the best washer you can buy
and most reliable too. |

我是屋里屋外都喷。通风口，门窗接缝处是重点。
另外一个要领就是不管活的死的都直接扔马桶里冲走。
千万不要把这东西的尸体扔到室内的垃圾箱里。会招来更多的虫子。
虫子呆过的地方用橘子皮（地板或者橱柜）或者白醋（地毯）擦。不过这方法我们没试
过。
主要是虫子会发异味招引同类。
如果再严重，就得察看下房子周围又没有遭虫害的橡树，网上GOOGLE农药吧。
太严重了就得找专业人士了。
我们去年很多，今年把虫子都从马桶冲走了，就见少了。不过平均每周还能发现3-5只
，这算比较好的情况了。另外，喷HOMEDEFENSE的药之后虫子死了比较好出理。否则的
话，只要一碰它就放那种恶心的味道，会招来下一波虫子。
买了房子之后才知道，烂事儿从不间断，而且没完没了。 |

出去找找周围有木有生虫的树，找到以后直接打农药吧。
我家后院一大片树林，找是找不着了。
不过如果你家附近就那么几棵树应该很好找了。
这玩意学名叫橡蝽，都是寄食在橡树上，一般不会在屋里繁殖。
但是我家LD告我说看见过虫子在百叶窗上交配。反正这东西很恐怖。早发现早处理最好。
新房子好说，你要买的是老房子的话，那就很难说了。
主要喷HOMEDEFENSE，橘子皮和白醋我们也没试验过，效果不知道怎么样。
另外，同学你也不用抓一只就冲一下，先扔马桶里，攒个十个八个的一起冲。
个人经验是最好马桶的储水池再里放些清洁剂什么的，这样应该在水里也可以压制那东
西身上的味道。
看网上的评论，跟这玩意斗是长期而艰巨的工作。
这玩意貌似在米国还没有什么天敌。总之，以后买房子离树林还是要远一些。。。。
