精细一点可以加redzone stat，4th quarter stat, 2 min stat, no hurdle stat 。
。。etc etc
个人认为run after catch应该从passing yd 里除掉
Sack 不能算作QB责任，起码不全是。
但是QB manage game的ability很难衡量。。。
说到stat，没有比baseball更精细更准确的了。。呵呵。
玩fantasy football, 绝对不能要切丝。

likelihood estimators, the asymptotic distribution of it is normal. "reg y
x" is an ols model. When the assumptions of OLS hold, the distribution of
the stat (b/se(b)) conforms to t distribution. However, if the assumptions
do not hold, then that statistic does not conform to t distribution anymore.
Despite that, stats packages still report them as t stat. The conclusion
is: you are safe to use z-stat for probit or t-s |

非常稳定，本科读的是数学，没有身份问题。因为家庭原因可能需要relocate，新的地
方有一些bio stat的工作，其他都是cs的工作。我本科的师姐现在在一个top 20的学校bio
stat phd快毕业了，她说她们系今年有人刚签了个大药厂，10w+起薪，而她自己也有
intern，待遇不错，她说对于女生，bio stat是非常好的，工作悠闲，钱也不少，而且
读起来也不难。可是我要relocate的地方只有一个像样的大学，bio stat排名又是top
1的，估计也非常不好进，据说一读也要读个6，7年。她说我要是不介意读个phd出来30
出头，可以申请看看。我想请问现在值得再去读一个phd么，没有身份问题和经济问题
，可以自己付学费，纯粹是从将来工作就业的角度来说，因为她说master出来工作很繁
重，10w也不好挣。
我想请统计phd这行的人给点意见，谢谢大家。因为几年前不懂就业市场，也不想做bio
stat，所以自费拿了master就走人工作了，可是人算不如天算，现在面临r |

A lot of stat phd are doing pk in big pharms. it does involve pharmacology
ADME but the nonlinear mixed effect modeling do require stat backgroud.
感觉他们也是半个 stat 啊，感觉好多非 stat 专业的都懂一些 stat，真是有压力啊 |

没碰过DOE，你说这个certificate要怎么考？要考的话也得分行业，banking stat,
marketing stat, clinical trial stat, survey stat, manufacturing stat...完全
不实际啊。
论应用的。
测量师，因为任何统计方法都不过是一个测量工具而已，只不过，这个测量工具不像一
把尺、一杆秤 |

UW's Biostat and Stat are both top 3 in US, if you can get admitted into
their Stat, I would admire you so much!!!
The master students in UW need to take at least 2 years to get the degree,
by taking 3 courses each quarter, by passing a theory exam and an applied
exam, by taking 10 courses, and by doing the stat consulting project. It is
not easy for you unless you are really super.
So my suggestion, if you wanna be a faculty, try your best to get into the

u r right, u need a very solid understanding of analysis, measure,
probability, math stats, linear models, asymptotics, decision theory, stat
learning theory...
but my point is how to digest new things efficiently. or put it simply, to
be able to read papers in top journals, to understand new skills in a week..
. then u don't have to start with analysis. if u look at some decent stat

biostat@UWashington, 他家生统很牛吧，不过感觉搞理论的几个大牛（Fleming,
Wellner)都挺老了，很多教授做的偏应用。5年之后不知道生统的学术市场和就业市场
会怎么样。而且有人说做统计的可以去做生统，但是做生统的再想去做统计就难了吧。
stat@Duke, 去他家以后就是bayesian了...不知道是不是一开始这么早就要限制死自己
的方向。。。另外据说bayes基本没什么太多的理论，都是搞计算的。以后要是想做
theoretical stat是不可能了。而且貌似很多duke的毕业生刚出来时不错，但是不久就
“废”了。。。还是因为理论训练太少了吗？
stat@Columbia，专排那个悲剧啊。。。(usnews和NRC都排得不高，教授里没认出大牛
来，唯一的Copss得主Gelman好像还是因为应用统计的。）他家不track毕业生，于是无

目前想在两个ad中选一个读书。虽然基础很弱，但是我都会好好努力的，读完的希望是
找到工作，不会去读考虑phd。其实我还不确定自己可以，或者想做什么工作，目前有
Gatech-omscs以一学期一门课的龟速跌跌爬爬读着，目前才读第三门，所以在我的on
campus master毕业前没什么读完Gatech的希望T_T。说这个只是说明我的确不知道自己
是否真的可以以及喜欢转码。。。我今年申请主申Statistics，估计因为我有Gatech，
全部被录成data science了，Statistics的项目都已经挂了T_T。
也希望大家能多给我一些未来职业规划的建议。

发帖数: 1554 | 24 以斯坦福为例，统计硕士每年招20-30人，计算机硕士每年招200-300人，统计没有本科
，计算机有本科。
统计读硕士也有很多必修课，包括概率、随机过程这些；计算机硕士也有很多必修课，
一般编程量都比较大，其实本科不是读计算机的或许还真的吃不消。。。
对于数据分析类的，cs 229 machine learning比较出名，而且计算机系貌似也只有这
一门数据分析相关的，但这门课也有很多概率论和公式推导，真正分析数据的不是很多
；统计系的就多了，stats 202 data mining, stat 305 applied linear model, stat
306a nonlinear model, stat 306b unsupervised learning,315ab statistical
learning, stat 290 statistical software等。。。cs 229没讲boosting/random
random forest这些
R的并行也有专门的parallel包，并不难用，我也正在用。。。

刚才，中国科学报记者就国家统计局公布粮食十一连增问题，采访笔者对此问题的
看法。国家统计局12月4日发布公告，2014年全国粮食总产量达到60709.9万吨（12142
亿斤），比2013年增加516万吨（103.2亿斤），增长0.9%。我国粮食总产量实现“十一
连增”从2010年开始，每年相对前一年的增幅分别为2.9%，4.52%，3.2%，2.1%，0.9%
。这个问题非常复杂，数据肯定是没有问题的，但关键是我们的粮仓里是否有这么多粮
食。现在需要澄清的问题是：
第一，中国18亿亩耕地撂荒的有多少？播种季节减少的耕地有多少？
第二，原本不缺粮食的省份，许多也开始缺粮，其原因是什么？
第三，既然已经产出了6亿多吨粮食，为什么还要那么多的进口？
其实，当前农业的问题，是在资本市场打压下，农民种地积极性下挫严重，老人妇

发帖数: 5901 | 34 用heat pump的需要注意一点是很多的t-stat不考虑heat pump的emergency heating用的是resistant，非常低效。如果用这些t-stat set back温度可能会适得其反，因为当温差大的时候t-stat会启动second stage，就是resistance。如果set back时间短的话可能省下的电不够resistant heating费的。
似乎说有的t-stat考虑到这一点。但是估计不便宜。 |

北美药厂里做统计是一个正在大幅度萎缩的行业。原因有几条：
1.制药业整体不景气。这个原因众多，包括各大药厂明星药专利到期，和全世界尤其美
国的医疗成本控制，医疗改革。。。等等。总之，各大药厂从几年前开始大规模裁员，
统计部门属于被整体剥离的部门之一。
pharma is still a very profitable industry. statistics is a core department
as it is required for FDA submissions.
2.由于制药业的整体不景气，整个制药业正在重新整合。整合的一个内容就是剥离非核
心业务。制药厂的核心业务是科研，不是做统计。统计，数据管理，IT等等环节正在快
速水平化整合到几家大pharma services公司手里。

In UI, the Stat program is highly ranked in US. I know a lots ppl in Stat
graduated wit PhD and got very good job. |

has some importance, not as many here claimed as "garbage" or useless. W is
not everything, but W is still quite something for a SP.
For example, if CY is given right now, or at current numbers extrapolate to
end of season with 25W, CC will get it for the dominant Wins but slightly
worse in other catergories, compared to Verlander or Weaver.

would take too much energy. The other way is simple, since KB has bench
stats, MJ has OLD stats, so just look at them as a whole.
As I said, their career points/shots is similar, they both has lows, which
would mean their top season would be similar, otherwise it does not make
sense.
MJ's seasons over 22 FGA is 12. KB has 4.

stats从最基本的开始，有得分，篮板，助攻，盖帽，抢断...
再进一步，有命中率，得分效率，per,winning share,
更进一步，可以上synergy网站看各种stats的分析。
高出手低命中，球队哪怕输球主要能刷高分的stats,那是球盲才爱看的吧？（我爷爷
奶奶就不怎么篮球，陪我看的时候，只会看谁得分最高）最后，我没影射，请不用对号
