bioinformatics方兴未艾，缺口大着呢。根本没到饱和的地步。连
biostatistics都没饱和，何况bioinformatics。
2. 大部分bioinformatics在医药公司里面属于技术辅助性工作，这是我的
point。在高校也是和PI合作，没见过专做bioinformatics的人做大医学
类项目PI的。都是帮着人家做。这和biostatistician一样。
我一点都不jealous做这行的，只是羡慕他们工作机会多多了。我说技术辅
助性没有一点贬低的意思，他们的技术别人顶替不了。
3. 没有CS做不好bioinformatics。我从来也没说过
CS=bioinformatics。
4. tenure不等于提升的job security的话，这么多faculty混tenure都
是白痴么？当然了tenured不等于养懒汉了，但是压力小很多了，学校管的
hard money比例高多了。

difficult to get funding without revenue in good valuation, VC
here was burned last 2 years.
Currently, most market are saturated like semi/cosumer electronic/

下周二的ER，Macworld之后iPhone，Mac和Leopard大家都有数了。最大的变数现在是iPod。2004-2006 Christmas season（FQ1) iPod的sales分别为4.6m,14m and 21m。无论从增速（300%->50%)还是从增加的绝对值（10m->7m）都在放缓。2007年Christmas analysts的估计从23.5m到26m不等，但即使最高的估计也只代表24% or 5m的growth。最低的估计只代表12%的growth。
iPod的市场肯定是已经saturate了。Apple 07年的解决办法是搞出个iPod Touch，促使existing iPod owners upgrade，同时起到提高ASP的作用。当然iPhone本身也suppose是做这个用的，而且iPhone作为cell phone，本来应该吸引不用mp3 player的人来买，但看来大家用free phone习惯了，买iP |

I feel the whole tablet and smart phone market is near saturated.
There are just too many tablets/phones on the market. People want the
devices already have one or several. The next big item can attract consumers
to upgrade
is 1080P display on 5-7" devices. After that, I don't see anything is cool
enough to attract consumers to upgrade. |

The bet on earning might be right this time. However, overall, it's not
going to 反转。So, the upside is limited. If it's not going to 反转(maximum
only 10% upside), then there are just too many better and safer stocks than
AAPL.
