you didn't understand me.
if CPI is higher than treasury rate, private investors will withdraw their

think they would rather destroy US dollar than seeing a great depression?
and even if they prefer, they are able to achieve it?

BOSTON (MarketWatch) -- It's starting to seem like retirees and those saving

First comes news that there won't be any cost-of-living increase for Social

And now we find that the maximum amount that you're allowed to contribute to

The market is getting increasingly hard to play.
People are investing less because of prospects of good returns, rather
because other investment options are often much worse.
Maybe this will become the decade of lower return? But after all, lower
return may not be that bad for young workers/savers. A booming stock/
property market just transfer the wealth from young buyers to retirees.
On that thought, I am getting a little bit pessimistic about investing today

Also I didn't mention two aspects:
1) There is a debate that in the long term the tax rate is rising.
2) A retiree might have other types of incomes, such as business income,
short term capital gain (I hope investors are smart enough to control
short term trading when they get old. People with 100k/yr income usually
have quite a sizable regular investment account by the time they

It may suggest two different things
1) The investors, especially the retirees, get led/scared by the talking
heads to believe inflation is on the horizon **AND** TIPS is the best hedge
against it, so they bought up TIPS, albeit market says otherwise.
2) Or the market is wrong, and the future inflation is much higher than the
market implied.
My thinking is on the former camp. People tend to forget the TIPS are, first

Pension is a difined benefit retirement plan, meaning the benefit payment to
the retiree is defined by the plan. As such, the pension is fully

1 之前报税时在1040上已经claim过 $800的 Making work pay and government

2 看到前面的帖子说寄1040x的时候应该附上1040。 请问要在原来的1040加填上8000刀
