hand grip, seem tiger's right hand index finger is long, and form a square
to hold the club well.
one thing i like choi is that his spine is kinda round, not flat, since my
buddy always correct me when i round my spine. |

学生打的好，不过学校的课便宜，呵呵）。平时主要在local的一个在大虾们看来很简
单的小练习场（9-hole, par36, about 3100yds）。直到冬天来临（11月中），成绩最
后比较稳定在42～47。 由于使用的球杆过于老旧（十几年前的杆），这个冬天在ebay
上买了一些二手的球杆，主要是以下：
Driver: Taylormade R5 TP 9.5 degree
Putter: Odyssey 2-ball SRT white hot XG
Iron set: Taylormade RAC OS2 with graphite shaft
现在，我的问题就是在这套iron。 试了试，好像不是很适合自己。就像你们说的，
graphite确实不如steel的控制性好（虽然能更远一些）。但是这套杆+steel shaft又
好像有点太重 （oversized head）。看了ET的帖子，好像版主对ping i5比较推崇，能
不能给点儿review。还有，他的那个什么green dot, black |

first time on 1/1/2008, 30F, 20+ mph wind, as cold as hell, swing was off,
shot 92. I wore even a short-sleeve shirt. what the heck I thought!!
the good thing was the pitching/chipping really backed me up a little bit.
2nd time on last week, 30F, 10+ mph wind, I wore long sleeve shirt + single
layer pant, hit balls freaking solid, but .. can't stand still to putter
ball. another 92.

now in three and half years.
Strategy is very important. Also note that both Tiger and Jack are excellent
putters and rarely miss a put within 10 feet.

1. driver! the one can hit further always got upper-hand,

swings, such as 60 yds, 70yds, 80yds, etc.) and your putter. |

the second is your short game.
you can try to improve your woods game later - when you need to break 80s. i
used to carry only irons and putter in my bag and routinely shoot in the
80s. tee off with a 2 iron is not a problem when you can hit it long and
straight. even now, i rarely tee off with my woods with holes less than 400
yards. the courses on which i usually play, the short holes have very tight
fairways and lots of |

I actually played with a guy of chinese agriculture bank in North Carolina
last year. He used my old clubs (golden bear stuff) and felt very
uncomfortable with my light putter. Anyway, he still finished at 85. The
course is rated at 72, about 6500 yards from the blue tee. He is the chief
of the Shenzhen bank, and had chances to play with Zhang Lianwei and co. His
drive was short (230 yards), but dead straight.

Absolutely, it is more meaningful to have a driver, irons from pitching

from manufacturers during the tournaments back to China and sells them at
his pro shop which is run by his wife.
Usually, players either just leave them there for anyone to pick up or give

my 3 fairway woods cost me in total less than $360
2 wedges were quite expensive, $200
putter, $80
bag, $100
so, in total, $1100 .. still a lot, seems.

purely marketing. Usually driver depreciates quickest,iron next,wedge 3rd,
while putter is the best value keeping stick. That's why so many ppl collect
camerons as a biz.
for 3w, I am still using my cleveland launcher steel. bought 2 years ago, $
70 brand new. never thinking about changing to others because I just love it.
for woods, don't addict to heads, focus on shaft fitting. I don't think heads
make big difference as |

putter but no 3-putts over an entire round is almost an insurmountable
challenge for me. my home course and a few other courses to which my friends
belong all have very fast and angulated greens. if i hit the wrong part of
the greens (above the hole or on a different tier), i have at best a 50%
chance to make 2 putts, some time i just hope not to make anything worse
than 3 putts. there's a tournament i played in last mo |

18 hole, use 4i once, 5i 2 times, 7i once
and 4i i can use hybrid to replace, 5i was used to get out of pine needle.
my typical setup:
driver + (hybrid/3woods) + wedge + putter |

there is one category: avg.putt w GIR, turn out it was 2.7, while avg.putt
overall was 2.3
so the theory makes sense to me too, ie, chipping and pitching would make
closer to hole, so put pressure off your putter.
another thing is that: i dont know you guys, but to me, once i GIR, i am
very easy lose focus. i dont know if that is another reason to contribute
high 3 putts with GIR.
