搭车问一下,个人感觉polymer的工作机会相对多些是因为跟材料加工工程和实际的材
料应用联系较多的缘故。基本上都是比较old-fashioned的方向和领域——其实公司不
太喜欢花哨的科研吧,有用最实际最重要。
个人有点不明白的是,若干年后,这些研究/研发方向会不会更多地转移到亚洲去?
美国在此工业上会不会慢慢衰退?如果是的话,若干年后polymer的工作机会会更少,
对吗?

first: how do I select rheometer? I know basically there are two kinds:
capillary and oscillary.

连着抽成真空的容器,加热到60 degree C,
这样可以通过使其中所含的水分蒸发从而除去水分,
而且不会使这个polymer vaporize, 这是我们组
已经形成的protocol.
在我作的时候,奇怪的事情发生了,
加热器温度设定的是60,
但是指示温度从60一直蹦到100,
(也许是温度计失控?不是,因为抽成真空的容器的气压显示
有气体正在通过),然后,温度又从100慢悠悠降到60,
这个过程的同时气压也慢慢恢复到真空,显示刚才通过的气体慢慢消失。
是因为水蒸气吗?还是什么别的原因?

你是要怎么分离,是POLYMER还是只是GPC上分,如果是GPC,操作很简单,当高分子量的
峰出来时候,这一分子量的分子链实际上已经从某一根COLUMN中出来了,而小分子量在CO
LUMN中停留的时间比较长,还不会出来,截取这一段的回收液重新做GPC就只会有第一个
峰。
如果是分离不同组份的POLYMER,你要找到合适的溶剂来溶解某一组份而保证其他的不溶
才行,溶剂的选择恐怕要考虑溶解度参数,来寻找合适的溶剂或者混合溶剂

我合成了一种聚合物, 合成过程中出现了爬杆包轴的现象,不溶。如何表征以证明发生
了交联?只有DSC一种方法么? 谢谢。
I have synthesized an unsoluble polymer. During the polyerization, it showed
to be crosslinked. How can I make charaterization of it to confirm it has been
crosslinked? Is DSC the unique way?
If I change the reaction conditions, a soluble polymer can be obtained.

Viscosity and elasticity mostly depend on the crosslinking density of the
target polymers. IF PDMS gets crosslinked, it's a kind of rubber! If
hydrogel-like polymers are not crosslinked, they are gelatinous materials,
just image the agaragar.

I donot know if this model exists. But in my point of view,
the problem itself is rather complicated.
I did not read your previous posts very carefully. My guess
was you wanted to spin-coat polymers. For polymers, the thickness
might be a function of RPM, density, rigidity. These, and other
factors I've not thought of determine the forces exerted on
your sample, thus the structure/thickness.

I wonder if there exists such kind of a polymer which has amphiphilic
side chains and all the side chains are attached to one side of the polymer
backbone.
Moreover, if the proportion of the amphiphilic side chains in one side
can be adjusted from 100pct to 50pct, that will be better.
Can anyone please shed me some light if there is any material that can do
this? If it is commercially available that would be better. Thanks.

what is amphiphilic side chain? do you mean amphiphilic block copolymer
grafted onto the backbone of a polymer chain? I don't know anything about such
kind of material, but it is technically possible.
what do you mean by "all the side chains attached to one side of the polymer
backbone"? do you mean 100% isotactic? that makes mission impossible.
if there is a way to synthesize your material, there will be a way to tailor
the content of each component.

thank for your information.
The problem I try to consider is target polymer will degrade at plantinum
surface under oxygen atomsphere. My initial idea is that the oxygen dissociate
on the plantinum surface as radical. Then this radical attack the side chain
of polymer and then degrade. Is it reasonable mechanism?
Are there any book to talk about degradation? Thanks a lot.

这个东西与我做的很有关系,所以听的比较认真.
所谓frustration,指的是体系有一个比较"喜欢"的低能量状态,但由于其他因素并
不能达到能量最低的状态.
一个简单的例子,如Ising magnet,或者不相容的polymer mixture,这种体系有相分离
(相变)的趋势,但在crosslink的A,B混合物中,相分离就不一定能顺利进行.比如
一般体系发生相分离的条件大概是
\chi * N~1,
在crosslink体系中,尽管总的趋势是满足这个条件的,但局部条件并不能得到满足
因为\chi *Ne(有效链长)<1.所以相分离不能顺利进行,体系就有可能被冻结在一个
metastable state.
具体的例子就是体系发生microphase separation的条件与具体的microphase structure
有关,并不能直接从mean field result来预言.
一般来说体系的相分离由concentration fluctuation诱发,但局部的fluctuation
有时并不一定
