Many marble product come in split, brushed or honed finish, which is not
nearly as slipery as polished finish, even polished finish in small mosaic

我现在在phd老板手下干活，拿phd老板的钱，做的课题和master的课题相差很远。
我master老板对这个方向根本不懂，但是老是要“指导”我干活，他对我说他和我phd
老伴商量过了，做我的co-supervisor，但是我phd老板从来没提过这个.在我看来，他
的"指导"都很荒唐，很累，因为他每有一个“指导”出来我就必须想一个说法来把指导
驳回去。他唯一能做的就是帮我polish一下paper,对他来说只是半天的事情。这次写论
文把他做第三作者，结果两天后改完发给我，发现他把自己做第二作者了，真无耻！！
还好我和他之间的信件都cc给我phd老板了，phd老板这两天出差，过几天回来他自己就
能看出来。不过真的觉得此人很无耻，此事不是第一次了。我本来这次不想让他polish
的，因为我phd老板也会帮我polish. 后来想想不能把他给弄恼火了（这次写paper为了
躲避他的“指导”，已经一个多月没回他的信了，否则他就会每两天一封信只有一句话
：“what's the progress?”），就把他加第三作者上去，没想到这斯给鼻子就上脸。 |

scotch，我孕期一直在用，没有任何问题/健康隐患。我把以前所有指甲油都扔了，全

到现在还没有递出去，材料都齐全了，律师说写peption letter至少要一个
月，估计能2月份submit就不错了。
办绿卡，总是time againsts us. 所以，千万不能找拖拉的律师。
1. 问清楚， 如果把推荐信drafts送出去后，大概多少天能从律师那里拿回来。
我的case是平均21,最长的40天。我有9封推荐信，一次给律师4封，一次5封。
我希望律师能在我写另外5封的时候，一个礼拜，或者10天内回给我前面4封。
这样我一方面可以给教授发出去，不用太耽误时间。 结果在推荐信上面
总共耽误1个半月左右。我的律师告诉我21天是正常的。
在所有9推荐信出去后，我实在忍无可忍，给律师打电话，很生气，然后3天后
所有所谓的9封"polish"的推荐信就回来。基本上没有动。
2. 问清楚， polish推荐信是怎么个polish法。我的律师的做法就是加一两句话，
而且是不全的那种， higtlighted, 然后我自己想办法琢磨怎么补全这句话，
以起到“画龙 |

我基本是这样：推荐信自己draft，律师重新改结构，polish。petition letter自己
draft，律师重新修改结构，polish。律师写的petition letter被我完全修改了，都是
推荐信里copy的。
我找了个听我话的律师。你要全指望律师多半RFE。看看transduction 的tip就知道了。
请律师之前，你一定要有DIY的水平。不然，你根本看不出律师的水平。
如果律师愿意，你可以要求先写一封推荐信，看看水平如何，再决定下一步。若不行，
付个250dollar走人。 |

发帖数: 21830 | 22 小人，这油漆活没那么简单，这也是我说victor水平还不错的原因，反正这玩意我绝对
做不过他
bumper买来后先要polish, 然后上白色的底漆，上完后再polish,再上原色的油漆，上3
次，上完后再polish,然后再上clear coat.
如果clear coat是clear的，那就简单了，中间层用颜色分析仪测下，机器配色就可以
了（homedepot买过油漆的都知道这玩意怎么配色的），但要clear coat不是clear的，
是带tint的话，你私活就没办法了。
这种情况解决的办法有2种：
1.全车油漆，很多shop凡是你换quarter panel的话，都要整车油漆，victor丫肯定做
不了，因为丫家里没有clean room
2.去dealer 买整套油漆，again,做出来不能保证颜色完全一致。
很多事完全不是你想的那样简单，你以后去bodyshop看看就知道了，有大型设备：比如
全车大小的clean room, 做车底laser alignment的钣金拉伸机，有这些设备的
bodyshop全chicago都没几家。

Yes.
偶想把门厅那里铺成大理
Yes and no, they are basically the same idea, but there is little differnce.
First what size and pattern do you plan to use?
Light color (especially some translucent) stone should only use white thin
set.
If you are doing a polish medallion (or polished finish for that matter) you
should apply a coat of sealer after install but before grout.
I would not suggest you using rough finish (like split or brushed) for the
entrance area, because they are hard to keep clean.

今年K2攀登分为南北两侧。南边经过艰难准备，大约11名攀登者于今晨冲顶。原来天气
预报天气应不错，但实际是强风，根本不能冲顶。攀登者们别无选择，只能放弃。经过
5个小时已安全下撤到大本营。南面的K2攀登基本宣告结束。北面的著名登山女将
Gerlinde Kaltenbrunner等三人还没到达突击营地，目前还不知他们今后几天计划。K2
自2008年大灾难以来已两年无人登顶，今年结果如何，要看Gerlinde Kaltenbrunner他
们的结果。Gerlinde Kaltenbrunner已完成13座8000米山峰，K2是她最后一座。在所有
攀登中，她都是无氧攀登，没有大团队，而且经常选择非常规线路，是登山女性中的佼
佼者。

发帖数: 70 | 32 走了三天走到了Plaza Argentina，向导很高兴的说，同志们，长征已经
完成25%了。当时感觉还挺好，结果第二天晚上，我就打道下山了。
坐在家里写这些的时候，我的team mates们应该已经刚上到camp 2了。
Aconcagua今年是个格外多风的季节，登顶率比往年低，而我们到那儿时
的头两天刚遇难了两个美国人，这自然而然的成了大家唯一讨论的话题。
因为我们选择的路线是360度，从False Polish Route登顶然后从Normal
Route下，所以如果是从False Polish Route下撤的基本上都是没有达到
Camp 3的。而在去往Plaza Argentina的那三天路上遇到不少下山的人，
都是因为十二月以来风猛劲的刮。
出发前感冒了，辗转到气候干燥的Mendoza时嗓子都冒烟了。以至于第一
天大伙碰头时见我一声不吭只点头微笑来着，都以为是这姑娘太shy...
等我上到Plaza Argentina的时候，低海拔时的小感冒一天天的已经变本
加厉到夜不能寐了。在Base camp规定是必须去医生那儿体检，医生有权

些的指甲油，涂一层就够，就算两层，也两层都薄点就行，主要目的是颜色更均匀更有
质感，有些比较sheer的指甲油，甚至需要更多层coat
一定要涂top coat，不然光泽几天就没了
有些指甲油本来就干得快，看formula，一般高档一点的干得比较快，超市里跟洗甲水
放一起的就有那种让指甲油快干的spray，很便宜，然后多吹风
想零刮坏的话用gel or shellac polish，涂起来步骤更繁琐一点，一般都是去nail
salon做，自己家也能买，但头笔投资高些，它需要每涂一层照半分钟灯，base coat,
first coat polish, second coat polish, top coat，全部都是，自己给自己弄比别
人给你弄多花双倍时间，因为手在灯底下照着的时候另一直手只能闲着。虽麻烦耗时，
但管时间久，那个只要一弄完，怎么磕碰都不会掉，会一直保持下去，直到新指甲长长
了不好看了为止，你才需要弄下一次。。

***Neuron绝对要排在Nature Neuroscience前面.NN最近几年发的crap越来越多了,不能
忍了都.
以下只是评论几个大众或者较为全面的杂志。特别专的杂志没有包含。
首先我觉得各个杂志的影响因子确实不同，但是IF是个平均综合的评价标准，不代表发
在pnas或者journal of neuroscience上的工作的影响就会比发在science上的影响低。
而发在高IF杂志上的文章，也不见得个个都polished或者valid or new.
我觉得找工作的时候，特别是博后还有faculty position （industry不了解），大家
关注的是你的工作的是否准确，就是whether you got it right or wrong，对后续工
作推进如何。以及你的工作和研究计划能不能Fit in到你找工作的实验室或者
department中。
当然不可否认cell上发表的工作大多都非常huge，工作量和novalty都有。Science和
Nature上面的都会比较新颖。偶尔有飞机出现也是可能的。。。譬如前阵子生物版上轰

第一个:优点就不说了 说说缺点：腰薄点，怕镶嵌的时候会有损伤，内含物与另一个比
稍多，而且有cloud在边缘。腰上有镭射标记，因为网上有人说镭射标记打上去了会影
响light performance，我问了店里的人，他说镭射是可以一直被polish掉的，所以并
不能作为钻石的id。

not clay bar, not wax. Wax or sealant is just for protection (or makes the
paint wet), But wax will not diminish the swirls and scratches (it can
temporarily "cover" swirls).
If you think wax is doing the job, I assume you have not done the polishing
job. The thing is: to make the paint shinning and swirl free, you need to
polish them. Before that you don't make the surface smooth (which is clay
