前10道判断对错题竟然全是对的！
之前得考试一般就3道左右正确。非常郁闷。
最后一道也很bt：
10. If I could choose to be doing anything I wanted to do right now, I would
not be taking this exam.
教授给的答案是这样的：
Only a person with truly pathological preferences would answer False to this
question. However, I can only penalize a person for not knowing regression
and
not for having pathological preferences.

，我心里有点不踏实。请过来人指教一下。
我有一个文章在写，Figure 2到Figure 10是in vitro的细胞实验都是我做的。
Figure 1 是电镜切片，是我取的动物样本、送到电镜处，由另外一个pathology实验室
的research associate（就是博后吧？）来分析、选图、得conclusion。（他擅长分析电镜、
病理切片，相对于他，我就是菜鸟）
老板的意思是，东西都写在一起。我写全文，我当第一作者。
但是刚才那个分析电镜图片的博后转发了个给我和我老板，意思是
说，他在一个会议上present了电镜切片的abstract，有个journal立马邀请他发文章过
去，他问我们电镜这块（Figure 1）能不能单独发出来？
我写底稿的时候，关于电镜的这一块，我还是挺心虚的。首先，电镜的图全是那个
postdoc选的，选图前，我并没有大致地看过raw picture（想看也看不懂），所以比较
出来有什么变化都是博后直接说的算。其次，描述pathological change的时候，我

medical genetics MOSTLY does not interpret pathological tissue, they simply
don't
have access to the pathological tissue specimen.
tumor (both solid and blood-borne) genetics are NORMALLY interpreted by the
molecular
pathologist within the pathology department.

machine, but I think they use it mostly for research purpose.
look, using NGS data in the anatomic pathology report is a dinosaur nowadays
, I don't see it that often. And I don't think it will be reimbursed by the

发帖数: 445 | 11 刚拿到成绩，勉强99，精华区前辈的帖子大家一定要好好研究，我几乎近两年的考经贴
都看过。这里给大家说说我个人感受和教训。
（1） 用的资料
Kaplan notes only Pathology and Anatomy + FA 4遍+ UW 2遍（其中错题3遍）+ RRP
1遍+ Goljan audio 1.8遍+ nbme forms
Pathology： Kaplan path 1遍，RRP 1遍， Goljan audio/MP3 1.5遍
Anatomy: Kaplan 1遍
其他科目：没有看过完整的书（eg: Kaplan notes）
教训：早期过一遍完整的书是必要的！！我因为急于求成，过了一遍Kaplan notes
only Pathology and Anatomy + FA + Goljan audio就开始做题，开始做uw感觉很吃力
,一直到做两编才有感觉。
实施证明是，不能走短评快，只能靠平时一点点积累，如果从头再来一次，我一定第一
编快速过一遍所有科目的notes，然后再开始早做题。
UW的解释，每一句话都要看，很费时，却很值得。RRP |

发帖数: 410 | 12 上星期过了CS，原以为一周内就会有ecfmg certificate的消息，结果oasis上面没有任
何动静，这样我9月1号交ERAS申请
时如果还没消息还能说我已经ecfmg certified吗？ecfmg的人说我所有的材料都
verified,就是等他们issue出来，没想到这
么慢，好多事都耽误了。
耽误最大的就是step3报名，看起来今年的报名截止日期是9月3号，可是我的ecfmg
certificate的issue日期还是未知，没
法递交。在报名过程中，记得有让选specialty的，有一组A-...., 还有一组O-....,例
如pathology,就有A-pathology和O-
pathology这两个选择，不知道该选哪一个；还有，填表时让选step1, step2ck,
step2cs的pass date,是应该选考试日期
还是score report日期？
至于ecfmg certificate,恐怕只有听天由命了，只能寄希望于ecfmg工作效率再高点。
只是不知道这个certificate是不是还
要公证一下，和Certification of Identit |

发帖数: 79 | 14 我知道pokemon的初衷是想写给班上即将申请的兄弟们看的。我们曾经电话聊聊天，说
说彼此在进入病理的感受，以及对今年申请的看法。以一些事情我们很有共鸣，其中一
个就是虽然病理很适合我们cmg,但是不是适合每一个人，一定要对自己将来的方向有个
清楚地认识，不要进来了再后悔，在转来转去或者不快乐。谢谢pokemon能写下来他自
己的感受，至少是现在作为一个小住院的感受。我相信将来他肯定会做得很好，那时候
就会像老刀大哥说的那样，视角完全不同拉。
我私下里认为，不要仅仅因为所谓的life style好，对毕业年限要求松一些，不需要和
病人接触很多就去选病理。一定要去做一段时间的observorship,要对病理要很明确的
认识在作决定。尤其是要搞清楚老刀大哥经常问的：tell me what's pathology, how
we do pathology。另外，好好准备why pathology这个面试必问问题，先convince
youself.否则的话，内科也许是更好的选择。
进来了才觉得jimmy大哥”病理医生如何处理跟临床医生的关系，我觉得是比病理学本
身还要高深的学问“这话多有 |

了自己加了几个。实际上病理面试根本没有问多少tough问题，大家觉得有用就看看。

residency match" by Rajani Katta and Samir P. Desai. Amazon有。

Forensic path fellowship positions are not competitive. you only need to be

发帖数: 237 | 22 周四上午到达匹兹堡，在机场door 6找到有名的28X, 在Wyndham Gardens Hotel有一站
（Forbes Ave. at Mckee）, 非常方便。Check-in之后收到一个package，是系里给每
个candidate的brochure，介绍系里的基本情况和面试当天的安排。
晚上7点去了red oak café，有5个resident 和 另外5个candidate参加。另外的
candidate包括3个印度MM, 一个从加勒比海医学院毕业的和一个来自利比亚的男生。三
个印度MM的IV 数量分别为17， 12，3. 加勒比海医学院毕业的MM iv 质量很高，有
mayor clinic，yale，UPMC, Baylor college of medicine等等。利比亚的男生也拿了
12个。Dinner 期间大部分时间都是我们问问题，resident回答以及聊天。
第二天早晨7：20我们和host resident在lobby碰面，然后有车带我们到医院。8点到9

首先要谢谢家人对我的大力支持。感谢先生努力工作，赚钱养家，不论何时都为我撑开
一片天空，是我坚强的后盾和依靠；感谢爸妈哥嫂帮我照顾可爱的宝宝；感谢所有亲人
朋友们的支持和鼓励；也感谢医学版上众多前辈们的宝贵经验，让我受益非浅。
先介绍一下个人背景：CMG七年制, 毕业9年, 国内phD, 美国博后3年, junior
faculty1年, 现全职在家复习。
复习时间：2年，前1年10个月每天1-3个钟头不等，最后冲刺全职复习近2个月，每天12
-14个钟头。有点拖拉，08年底决定考试，当时还在postdoc，期间经历发文章、办绿卡
、怀孕生子，总算一切搞定。先生在湾区找到新工作，就辞职搬家，全职复习。感觉可
以全职复习真是太幸福了，否则我好像总是差那么一点点没有ready。非常佩服那些一
面工作一面考试的战友们，因为我知道那有多么挣扎、多么不易。

communications. Score is valued very high in pathology. I heard that many
path programs prefer higher score CMG to low score AMG. I think many CMGs
really excel in pathology. I used to do one path ob in X state. Overally,
IMGs did better than AMGs.
On the other hand, CMGs are much less likely to do well in direct patient
care specialties like surgery, IM or FM. Communcations are not emphasized

发帖数: 2180 | 30 说说我的复习step 1的大概经历吧。有心考版是07年底，但是工作怀孕带小宝，一直也
没什么时间看书。正式开始复习是从2010年5月开始的 （以前也就有1个月看了生理，
其他时间基本是打酱油），先把各科看了一遍，除微生物和病理外，其他看得都是
kaplan notes. 看完书接着做了2个月Kaplan Qbank, 对着FA画了一圈。做完Kaplan
Qbank之后跟着小组学习FA （我自己实在是看不下去。），同时做UW Qbank. FA 小组
学习了大概不太到2个月，UW3个半月做了2遍。 本来想着3月底考的，最后决定推后考
。不过一早定了4月初去度假的还是照旧去了，呵呵。度假回来再买了一个月Kaplan
Qbank 做了一遍。做完想做FA Qbank的， FA 网站有问题，最后没做，而是买了Apple
apps store 的 FA flash cards, 一边看FA一边背卡片，中间穿插做NBME各个form.
NBME forms 大部分都是网上做的，有expanded form的都买的expanded form. 考前一

全面了, 我实在想不出什么补充的. 看看版上一个接一个的240+, 250+, 260+就足以
说明这些考经的重复性有多么好（比我做的多数实验的重复性都要好, 呵呵）．准备
考试的同学只需要按照这些考经付出辛勤的劳动，就会拿到同样的成绩.

OB: personality, attitude比能力更重要. 1)要穿的得体，正式不会让你扎眼, 但
不正式会让你扎眼。2)和每一个人处好关系，即便是technician. 在不影响别人工作
的情况下多问, 多交朋友。结束时送一盒巧克力。3)把OB中看到的有意思的东西记下
来，将来可以用到面试中。 4)问问题要看人，找比较nice的人问。
AP包括surgical pathology, autopsy．CP包括blood bank, chemical pathology等,
但需要的人不多。

本版基本属于潜水状态，昨日受到众多前辈精神的感染，觉得自己也应该为麦地贡献些
什么，于是就修文一篇，希望给没有机会去纽约的麦穗们一点信息。
我什么步都还没有考，但因为去纽约还方便，又有几个match上的朋友强烈推荐，于是
也报名参加了。听后觉得折腾这么一趟非常值得。我觉得，这个会议适用于所有阶段的
同学们，像我们这种还处于初级阶段的听后可以更加有的放矢地计划，因为有些东西并
不是申请前那几个月就能准备起来的。
因为我是一门心思将来考虑申请病理，所以就写写我听了Dr. Zhang讲座后的总结。Dr.
Zhang讲得非常非常好，非常感谢他百忙之中对我们的指导！我下面写的都是只针对病
理申请而言，Dr. Zhang讲了很多，我就捡我体会最深的几点讲讲：
1. 原来分数还是相当相当重要的：对于IMG，分数和match率是直线相关。注意，是
直线相关，从图上看，好像斜率还不小。所以，能考高，尽量考高，特别是step 1。当
然也要根据自身情况衡量利弊，因为各位老师们也都强调，申请要ASAP；

Either way. If you do it when you are reading the books, 按subject. If you
want to do it after you review all the subjects, then do it mixed. Both are
ok.

a 较专业的病理图片网站 - you do not need it. be familiar with the pictures
in the questions from Q bank and pictures from Rapid Review Pathology by
Goljan are good enough.
