如果我们不知道损失是祝福,失败是成功,空虚是礼物的话,我们所受的信心
教育还不完全。物质的缺乏常是灵力的建设。以利亚坐在基立溪旁注视那日渐干涸的溪
水,正是我们生活的写眞。 「过了些日子,溪水就干了。」──这是我们昨天的历史
,明天的豫言。
有一天我们总会知道信靠恩赐和信靠赐恩者有什么不同。恩赐也许有一时好用
,可是赐恩者是永久的爱。
以利亚在未到撒勒法之前,基立对于他是一个难题。等他到了撒勒法之后,他
就清楚明白了。上帝严厉的对付并不是最后的对付。生活中的灾祸、沙漠、眼泪,都是
一些插入的音乐,并不是最后的精采。

坐在天上
经文: 「然而上帝既有丰富的怜悯,因祂爱我们的大爱,当我们死在过犯中的时候,便
叫我们与基督一同活过来。….祂又叫我们与基督耶稣一同复活,一同坐在天上。」(
弗二4~6)
「与基督耶稣一同坐在天上」──安安静静地坐着──是我们的权利,是我们
的本分。但是有几个人眞有这样的经历呢?有几个人眞想这是一件可能的事呢?
我们也许会想:恐怕在主日,或者灵程猛进的时候,偶然能有这样的经历;如
果每天随时都坐在天上,是不可能的事罢!但是我告诉你:主日能,周日也能,天天都
能!
一个安静的灵,对于外面的活动是非常有帮助的;反言之,没有一件东西,比
灵里的焦急挂虑,更妨碍属灵的能力和成功。
一位属灵的信徒有一次告诉我们:「知道怎样信靠,怎样安静,就是得到了一
切。」这句话是非常有意思的。我们如果知道这个,我们工作的方法就会大大改变了。

对抗婆罗门教的世界观
我们要先从释迦牟尼时代的婆罗门教信仰(BrahmaiSm)说起。婆罗门教相信梵天神(
Brahma)创造世界万物,并进入人的身体,而人成了梵天神的一部分,「梵即我,我即
梵」。人若能苦修并不停念梵语 OM 咒文,最后,人的「自我」(Atman)或人的灵魂
(Manas)便能与梵天神合而为一而得解脱,此称「梵我一如」,这有点像中国人所讲
的「天人合一」说。
婆罗门教信多神多鬼多灵,是一个极为复杂的多神教。他们信天神(Dyaus)、太阳神
(Surya)、雷神(Indra)、火神(Agni)、酒神(Soma)……,以及许多山川草木及

简单地把outward按字面翻译为崩发,那么reversal自然是塌陷
forged feature很难翻译,指音乐家用神力把坚硬的意向塑造成巧妙的造型(比如把钢
板forge为流线型)。“奇形怪状的东西”是我找不到词汇的选择。。。
类似的无奈地曲解还有“童话般的野雁”。great snowfowl的涵义很深刻也很悲壮,但
是“伟大的野雁” 在中文语境里完全没有那个意思,只好将之卡通化翻译为“童话般

传的短篇,还有自己写的“创作感想”。看到TRENDS那一篇,居然发现他在1938年(当
时他还在读大学)成功预测成两件事:1)1940年第二次世界大战,2)1970年,人类登
月。
两件事都只差1年而已!
我一直觉得那个SF黄金时期的创作高峰,后来者很难翻越……

恩典与记号
经文: 「耶和华──你上帝必将你心里和你后裔心里的污秽除掉,好叫你尽心尽性爱耶
和华──你的上帝,使你可以存活。」(申命记卅︰6 )
这里我们看到真正的割礼;只有主自己可以除去我们心中的污秽,好叫我们尽
心尽性爱主我的上帝。这件事本身就是一个奇迹,若非圣灵动工,是无法做到这地步;
若人未能达到这般境界,我们内心便不得满足。
注意,这割礼是在人的内心,而非肉体。这是恩典之约最基本的标记。对上帝
的爱慕是被拣选的族类应有的记号;有了这印记,我们的名字会被列在生命册上。我们
要留意,我们对上帝的爱,不在于遵守外在仪文的规范,而是内心圣灵所施行的割礼。
这带出来的结果是什么﹖ 「使你可以存活」,若我们体贴肉体,我们就死亡
;若我们攻克己身,叫身服我,我就得着生命与平安。若我们思念上面的事,就得以存

每一个时代,教会必须面临世界的需求和挑战。如何面对这些需求?如何回应,服事那

加尔文主义者认为福音发出呼召(a general outward call)给每一个听见的人,
要他们接受福音;但这个外在的呼召,不能叫一个罪人悔改,因为一个未重生的人,是
不能对福音作出悔改与信心的回应。因此,圣灵更同时在每一个蒙拣选的人的心 发出特
别的呼召 (a special inward call),要引导他们接受救恩。外面的呼召(对於所有人

In Romans 6 we saw how God delivered us from sin; in Romans 7 we see how He
delivers us from the Law. In chapter 6 we were shown the way of deliverance
from sin in the picture of a master and his slave; in chapter 7 we are shown
the way of deliverance from the Law in the picture of two husbands and a
wife. The relation between sin and the sinner is that of master to slave;
the relation between the Law and the sinner is that of husband to wife.
