tradition. After graduating from Oberlin College in 1971 with a degree in
European Intellectual History, he studied meditation under Ajaan Fuang
Jotiko in Thailand and ordained in 1976. In 1991 he helped establish Metta
Forest Monastery in San Diego, CA where he is the abbot. He is a prolific
writer and translator. Many of his works can be found online at www.

响应大鱼的号召，我来写个流水文。
（前言唠叨）
前一阵子，去了一趟费城 。
其实在美国借着各种机缘，时不时都出去走走，却从来 没写过什么。总想着现在资讯
发达，什么旅游攻略网上都有 ，写不出来特别。现在想法慢慢有些变化，有要把自己
的所见所感付诸文字的冲动，讲讲我和这些地方的缘分。
上回小柯有篇文讲旅游的不同目的，什么发现美啦，脱离平时琐碎的生活啦，还有接触
新的事物等等。对我而言，新的地点，新的人，新的经历 最让我 兴奋 。我仅讲讲 在

第一节 预定和恩典论
加尔文的预定神学基础在于上帝的绝对主权上（God`s sovereignty）。他排斥人类
的任何可能性,强调只有依靠上帝的能力和旨意人类才可能得到救赎。如瓦匠依照自己的
意志将一个器皿造得贵重，而将另一个器皿造得卑贱一样，所有的人类救赎取决于上帝。
所以加尔文进一步发展了奥古斯丁的预定思想。奥古斯丁只讲了得到救赎者的预定,
而加尔文更深一步讲了灭亡者的预定。
他在《基督教要义》第三卷24章1节中说，“有的人已被预定成得永生（for
ordained），有的人则被预定为进入永远的灭亡。没有丢弃（without reprobation），
选择也就不能成立（《基督教要义》第三卷23章1节）。这就叫作双重预定论（double
predestination）。
所有人并没有被创造为一样的命运。有的人预定得永生，有的人预定得永远的诅咒。
因而每个人被创造为这两种之间的一种（《基督教要义》第三卷21章5节）。

今次介绍的，是基督教（以香港通俗的说法，包括新教、改革教、福音派等）如何看一
些宗教礼仪。
天主教朋友都听过，「基督教」只有两个圣礼或者礼仪，就是「洗礼」（或称圣洗，浸
信派称为「浸礼」，Baptism）和「主餐」（Holy Communion，The Lord's Supper，圣
餐礼，天主教和圣公会称Eucharist）。
Ａ）浸礼／圣洗／洗礼（Baptism）
很多所谓「基督教」书（相信主要是福音派）普遍宣称「基督教」的 Baptism是指「信
而受洗」，只有象征意义。
其实，信义宗和圣公会对「圣洗」保留了很多和罗马天主教相似的特色，甚至仪式也很
相似。
「圣洗」方面，信义宗、荷兰改革宗、长老会、圣公会、循道宗都接受婴儿洗礼，认为
除了象征意义，也包括神的工作。部份宗派如信义宗也信婴孩是有「信 」的。他们也
认为在洗礼里面，神有特别的工作，具有恩典和拯救的功能，并且是旧约婴孩出生后行
割礼归入神家而在新约的表记。篇幅所限，我不能多介绍。
