我2月底能完成入籍面试和宣誓，拿到公民纸。
因为国内家里有急事，所以希望能快些拿到美国护照。
网上咨询一番，被告知new york passport agency可以walk in加急护照，如果机票是2
天内的，当天就能拿到护照。早上很早walk in，7点半开门，但一般5点就很长的队了。
我住Bridgewater NJ，驾驶技术一般，而且也怵纽约市内高昂的停车费，所以准备坐火
车进城。
早上最早的一班火车4:39 am开出，到达New York Penn Station已经5:58 am了。
然后换乘地铁1号线到Houston St，网上查到的班次是5分钟一般，6分钟可到。
我从没坐过纽约市的地铁，买票和NJ Train一样么？

New port是一座海滨城市，位于新英格兰地区最南端，属于罗德岛州（Rhode Island）
。话说罗德岛在地理上是美国最小的一个州，但是第一个宣布从英国独立的州，也是最
后一个接受美国宪法的州。 New port 在罗德岛的西南角，被誉为美国东部第一度假胜
地。这座人口不到三万的城市，但每年来此观光的游客不下百万。许多游客都是冲着来
看New port的豪宅，这座海滨城市在19世纪末涌入美国富有家族及企业家，在此建造奢
华的夏日度假豪宅。十几座富丽堂皇的大别墅傍海临风，其建筑规模和风格都相当讲究
，显示着19世纪末和20世纪初“豪宅”主人们耀眼财富和建筑师们创造的天才。另外值
得一提的是New port的夏日美景，美丽的海滩配合碧蓝的天空以及白色的帆船，真的是

年还应该等一周。要去麻省看红叶的朋友最好下周去。Vermont, New Hampshire一带应
该已经大红了吧，有人去了吗？我们州可能还要等两三周。今天去庄严寺的朋友来证实
一下那里的红叶怎样？是不是还要等几周？
回头我来写一个Amherst游记，有Emily Dickinson故居值得一游。Robert Frost也在
Amherst College教过书，这是美国排名第二的liberal arts college；麻省的liberal
arts colleges又多又牛。Robert Frost在Franconia, New Hampshire有个故居。去年
去白山的时候经过Franconia，可惜当时不知道那里有他故居。今年有人去那里的话不
妨一游。

往Woodbridge开，又从雨变成雪。Woodbridge比New Haven冷好几度，以前也是New
Haven的雪都化了，Woodbridge还积得很厚。因为人少车少，温度就低一点吗？
奇怪的是New Haven的public schools都关门了，Woodbridge倒没关。雪地比雨地难开
车多了，我在Woodbridge打了两次滑，转弯转到对面lane上去了……赶紧降低车速，最
后一个转弯时车速才10mph，乌龟爬一样……大家开车小心。今年雪少，才下了三四场

先说一下我是如何从不断的“踩雷”到发现一些好餐馆，从而真正爱上新奥尔良美食的。
刚到NEW ORLEANS，我按照艾小柯等人的游记吃过一串推荐餐馆后，我的心情和感受那
就是：无比想念Houston。 虽然Houston被认为极Boring的城市，但是在价格和品质上
Houston所有中低档餐馆绝对狠狠秒杀NEW ORLEANS大部分被艾小柯等人狂推的餐馆，还
别说Houston China town的中餐了。所以有很长一段时间，我放弃了对NEW ORLEANS美
食的寻找，认为NEW ORLEANS美食之都纯属浪得虚名。直到跟公司的同事们一起去吃了
几次他们眼中的好餐馆，才重新认识了NEW ORLEANS作为美食之都的原因。
我对于好餐馆的要求是：菜品好，环境好，服务好，有历史。我的硬标准是当地人认为
是绝对好餐馆，同事常去，我吃过觉得不错，带家人去吃，家人也觉得不错，另外我认
为好的餐馆会有自己的烹调书。你我这些一路念书出来的硕士，博士对能出书介绍自家

里面有两行收入，一行是federal income，一行是new york state income
我的收入比如是，federal $10,000, new york $5,000 (半年收入)。
为什么交税的时候，却要我按$10,000的收入交new york的税？为什么不是
按照$5,000交税？？？
Line 34是不是写错了？
（Subtract line 33 from line 32），line 32 = $10,000

It is true that subway in Manhattan is very convenient. 一般大家都不开车，因
为开车的话也很堵，不光是manhattan,像queens, brooklyn, 或者从城外（例如，long
island, Wechester,new jersey开车进城，都会堵的）城市都这样吧。
我平时住在三藩城外，只是每天座caltrain进城上班，所以目前traffic对我的影响不
大，还需要再观察。到目前为止除了去上班的地方，其他只去了三藩城里的两个地方，
（坐bus到中国大使馆和Muni到Stonetown mall）. 到了晚上Muni不frequent，花了好
长时间等。
同意South/East Bay比较适恰有family， new york更容易meet new people.One
character about new york is continuously meeting new people but hard to keep
a long term friendship/relationship.

号开车
去houston，我准备加入29号到31号的行程。如果你想28号到我也可以28号到。

客的餐馆，把钱真正花在好的餐馆上。
先说一下我是如何从不断的“踩雷”到发现一些好餐馆，从而真正爱上新奥尔良美食的。
刚到NEW ORLEANS，我按照艾小柯等人的游记吃过一串推荐餐馆后，我的心情和感受那
就是：无比想念Houston。 虽然Houston被认为极Boring的城市，但是在价格和品质上
Houston所有中低档餐馆绝对狠狠秒杀NEW ORLEANS大部分被艾小柯等人狂推的餐馆，还
别说Houston China town的中餐了。所以有很长一段时间，我放弃了对NEW ORLEANS美
食的寻找，认为NEW ORLEANS美食之都纯属浪得虚名。直到跟公司的同事们一起去吃了
几次他们眼中的好餐馆，才重新认识了NEW ORLEANS作为美食之都的原因。
我对于好餐馆的要求是：菜品好，环境好，服务好，有历史。我的硬标准是当地人认为
是绝对好餐馆，同事常去，我吃过觉得不错，带家人去吃，家人也觉得不错，另外我认
为好的餐馆会有自己的烹调书。你我这些一路念书出来的硕士，博士对能出书介绍自家
