下面是我在网上考古的信息。 本来打算用firsttrade, 但是网上有个broker review

1、银行，就是不做投资，只是储蓄。优点么，简单，保险；缺点么，储蓄的利率一般
是不如通货膨胀高的，所以你把钱放银行里，时间长了其实是亏的。开这种账户直接去
银行找他们的职员，或者上网，就行了。
2、Securities broker，比如楼上说的firsttrade，ameritrade，scottrade等等。一
般把钱放进去以后可以买卖股票，基金。优点是比较灵 活，缺点是大家一般炒股票都
没什么经验，容易赔钱。开这种账户，可以到这些公司的网站或者办事处。这种账户一
般收两种费用：固定的管理费（不管账户里面怎 么赚/赔，每年都要交钱，有的是一个

difference.
-- Vanguard and Fidelity are different brokers, both of them are good at
mutual fund investment as they issue they own mutual funds with good long
term (from 1 yr to 10+ yrs) performance (but not all of their mutual funds
are good, you have to do your own research)
Just saw vanguard name because my 401k has vanguard money

钱不会离开mutual funds。啥是mutual funds（including ETF)?就是散户。mutual
funds大量赎回（不管是个人投资账户还是401k）就得卖股票。散户从mutual funds拿
回的钱一部分去了fixed income，一部分去了cash。股市涨跌和散户出入是相辅相成的
，所谓追涨杀跌，这就是stupid散户的操作（well，they often think they are
smarter than the rest）。做为聪明的散户（so called intelligent investors）应
该buy low,sell high。做为dummy散户，应该不为所动，Dollar-Cost Averaging，定
期rebalance或者只买不卖，any gain or loss都是unrealized，只有最后用钱的时候
卖掉的才是realized gain，假设股市大趋势是向上的，一般来讲最后总是gain的。 |

我用以下的screen标准在scottrade找到6个fund，只有这个expense ratio最小，
standard deviation最小，收益基本都是正的。从98年到08年10年中只有04年Q2是负0.
28，其他quarter全都为正收益。
在morningstar用类似条件搜索出一些，与在Scottrade搜出的6个只有这个是唯一的交
集。

若是在Roth账户里, 不用考虑税务问题. 我看Vanguard的一些同名ETF和Index Mutual
Fund, 比如REIT的, 手续费完全一样, 可是ETF可以随时出手, Mutual fund不但要等每
日结算,有的还有若干天不能出售之类的条款. 这样的话怎么还会有人买Mutual fund呢
? 显然ETF有各种优势啊.
鄙人对此很不理解. 这是不是设计出来专门提供给某些法定或者公司限制不能购买ETF

我该怎么办？求各位大侠为我出出主意.
我的公司在Fidelity为员工设立了401k帐户。为应对股市的动荡，从四年前开始，我一
直将我的401K全部资金放在money market fund中。因为 money market fund 的价格变
化很小，平时又忙，所以我一般几个月才查一次帐户.两天前，我查了一下账户，发现
账户缩水巨大.我吃惊的不敢相信自己的眼睛，因为money market fun 是不可能有如此
大的损失的。吃惊之余仔细研究，才发现，四个月前，Fidelity偷偷把我的money
market fund卖了,同时用这笔钱买了一个stock mutual fund,没有通知我,也没有得到
过我的同意。
我打电话给Fidelity的客服，问为什么。客服承认确实是Fidelity将我的401K全部资金

最安全应该是market money fund，1年收益0.1%，等于没有收益，非常安全。
其次是bond，这类收益特别低，1-3%那种，国家型的，公司类的风险也很大。比如JC
penny的bond
再其次是各种large size的mutual fund，
再就是common stock。
我个人推荐。
20% large cap size mutual fund， 80% retail section mutual fund。
我自己，
20% SP500 mutual fund， 80% common stock
retail是实体经济的主题，现在美国的复苏只体现在金融市场，就业市场，消费指数还
处在缓慢复苏状态，未来3-5年，零售业的复苏是实体经济的关键。
现在买retail section的mutual fund，同时拥有100多只零售商的股票，又有专业人士
替你操作，风险虽然存在，但是起码可控。
我自己401k只有几k，公司虽然有match，但是真心不觉得有啥意思，就这么点钱，存在

1. 为什么要写这篇文章
从2012年5月 开始重新进入美国股市、债市，到现在刚刚满一年。一直想写一点自
己投资的心里历程。一来感谢我的投资启蒙老师（M老师），二来也提供一些经验教训
给和我一样在投资路程上摸索的新手。
2. 复利效应和股场初试
我们对投资重新开始感兴趣，主要是两个原因。一是因为M老师一直以来将他的投
资理念蕴含在和我们闲聊的过程中。现在回头想想，真是辜负和浪费了许多M老师的投
资机会。尤其是听M老师聊在2008年金融危机时的经历，让我们对投资有了一个全新的

我是个老川菜食客，一年多前孩子上中文学校去小熊买的午餐，味道做功之差整个有如
路边摊。之后一直不再想去，昨天和朋友去中国城百佳买东西，起的晚没吃早饭，买完
都１１点多了，朋友提议去“小熊”，说是有人推荐，加之我从版上读到有时候菜是店
里伙计学做的，推想那次外卖就是如此，堂吃可能境况会好些，就随同了。进去让我们
坐在角落俩人座后就再没人来答理，店里来了几拨食客都安排好了也没人给我们拿菜单
，无奈只好起身使劲挥舞双手才招来慢吞吞不情愿的小帅哥，遂点了夫妻肺片，红油水
饺，盐爆肉和辣子鸡。出菜不慢一次齐，可是味道做功实在比俺保守的估计还要保守，
俺思量出菜这么快是不是伙计们又上手了？倒地是俺运气不好还是版上的筒子们过誉了
？亦或想要吃到好味道就得纠集一个大团伙（才能受重视）？

美国东部时间 9点30分召开电话会议， 但同时，JPMorgan 要切块购买Washington
Mutual的消息已经如滚滚洪流在全美激荡。 此时， 再反过去看Washington mutual

我的速度很慢，不是加油门，而是用松刹车的方式。结果距离没算好，我的右前角蹭到
了前方车的左后角。车主是个60左右的白女，态度很不友好，叫我打911，并说她头痛
。打完911后，我们各自在车里等。警察来后，给了我张careless driving的ticket。
然后各自闪人。当然，这是我的错。
后来我的保险涨了，我就换了个保险公司，当时是liberty mutual，liability只买了
25000.
一个多月前，liberty mutual给我打电话，说那个车主的律师claim $65000。让我签个
表格，他们好继续调查。详情是，律师说车主后背和颈部受伤，医药费16930。加上其
他各种损失等等，要求liberty mutual赔65000。不过保险公司安慰我说，这是个很小
的事故，当时车损他们只赔了400多。他们会把金额控制在10000以内。
上个星期，liberty mutual打电话给我说事情结了。最后只赔了3000。

的话尽量不要选那些上市的公司，因为他们的要分利润跟股东，选那些mutual
insurance company, e.g. new york life, mass mutual, omaha mutual, pacific

问问题，什么fund好，高手
帮忙挑一挑。我的建议是新手们应该用心来学习一下股市和mutual fund的基本知识。
有个基本知识来做基础，对
任何fund可以进行自己的分析，毕竟你投资是投自己的钱，就听别人说哪个好就买你自
己还没明白的话你放心么？
我其实也就是在www.morningstar.com上把那里列的关于Asset allocation, Bond,
Fund的class都看了一遍。看
完了对现在版上出现的问题就有了个数，比如close end mutual fund，401K, IRA
account之类的都能从那些课
里找到答案。一方面，有了对市场的基本知识，另一方面也能攒bonus point,攒够６５
０点就可以获得六个月的
premier membership. Premier membership能帮助我进行投资的管理和获得一些关于
mutual fund的独立的分
析。我觉得六个月的时间够我把mutual fund selection 和 asset allocation初步建
