标 题: msee 找工作方向

雖然是msee, 但學習內容比較偏向computer engineering, research是wireless
networking, intern 經驗是embedded system.
我的問題是不清楚該找什麼方向的工作, 找software developer之類的position擔心編
程技術問題, 我只會c/c++, 沒什麼application development的經驗, 估計可以看看書
惡補一下應付面試, 但很難保證效果.
找networking方向的工作又怕應用技術單一, 很難表現自己的優勢, 也需要時間重頭溫
習tcp/ip, osi model等等
其他hardware和antenna的知識例如fpga, dsp, vlsi, fdtd, mimo 等只懂些皮毛, 具
體經驗也不是很多.

觉得 msee 应该来个＂专家＂讲座系列，谈谈你对 College Football 的认识,看法，
精髓．
因为这个版上，只有你一个人，具备如下条件：
1) football 知识丰富,
2) 不是 fooball powerhouse 出身, (purdue), 所以自己的学校没有什么骄人战绩，
每年其实也没什么盼头,历史也没什么好吹的,很多这样的人，就算是喜欢 football,也是
去看 NFL 了．
3) 仍然长期，热心,支持, 关注 College Football.
要说谁是＂凑热闹＂，只有 msee 最有资格批评别人．
赞一个！
建议：发给"NCAA 版荣誉顾问"称号． |

本人 MSEE,无经验。找的主要是digital IC design的活。 以下经验可能只适用于菜鸟
，老鸟可能不适用。
一． 找工作的网站
务必隔个 2~3 天上网更新一下简历。 我的感觉的网站有用度：craigslist > monster
> hotjobs > rest of all. 一般 craigslist上的广告肯定是有open的。 记得隔几天
去看看有没有新的open，多投投简历。还有其实很多工作在post出来以前，公司的hr会
先在网络上搜一次，看看有没有合适的人选。很多次on-site其实职位根本没post出来,
都是hr在某个网站找到我的简历
二． 关于简历
a.简历长短没有太严格的要求。一般别超过两页。感觉ASIC有用的project 一个是CMOS
, 比如cadences 画schematic,layout然后spice做simulation。还有一个就是HDL
coding的了。其他的都算锦上添花了。面试的时候问到的project一般也就这两个了。

附近的学校看了一圈，有part time的有santa clara univ， san jose state univ,
其他的学校要么太远，要么有只是提供给特定的公司。
想问下SCU口碑认可度怎样？以前从没听说过它，但也有可能是因为是teaching school
不出名,还望给点指导意见。SJSU如何？谢谢 |

标 题: 报offer。 烂校fresh MSEE,+无工作经验+不会编程+敏感专业

长时间潜水本版，受益匪浅，今天拿到offer, 回馈本版，奉上面经。
本人背景： 烂校EE小硕（只上课不用写论文那种）， 电磁场与微波技术方向，没任何
工作经验（这个方向在美国基本都要citizen和security clearence），编程方面用过
一点点matlab,还是为了应付作业， 对编程没有任何兴趣，根本不知道java是什么东西
，所以也不会。
拿到的是东海岸一家很大的能源公司的RF Hardware Design Engineer. 找工作过程中
一共用了careerbuilder, dice,monster三个网站，基本是闭着眼乱投，唯一的标准就
是找只需要摁一下发送简历就可以投的公司，从来不去投那种需要注册无数信息的那种
。就这样很轻松的投了600多份简历，就幸 |

发帖数: 81 | 10 本人女生，中部一个很普通学校的MSEE即将毕业。BSEE 在此中部学校也有学位。学习
也算努力。本科和研究生修了挺多电力方向的课，大三大四时发现对signal
processing 很感兴趣，于是在当时以及读研时又尽力修了一些signal processing 方
向的课，如DSP，audio signal processing, image signal processing等, 读研时又
考了个EIT证书。Thesis做的是auido signal processing方向的，因为本人从小学乐器
，对音乐很感兴趣。而且本人从小就很喜欢技术方向，觉得technology 很facisnating
,应该在近几年没有转到经管方向的意向。本人有过通信公司的一段实习，觉得通信方
向的工作也很不错。
本人去加州面试过一次，从此对加州充满无限憧憬和向往，当然也不排斥其它美国大城
市，只是本人从小在国内城市长大，对城市生活比较适应，加之在这个中部地方待的有
些久了，很希望能换个环境。
编程方面用的最多的是Matlab, 其它语言也会一些但都不是很精，有C++，verilog，

律师说这个reserach backgroud要求就是work experience要求.
那我说不要求research background吧，就说MSEE focusing on power system.

have been working as Eletrical Engineer since 2005. You can read a MS in
Computer Science or IT, which is easy for you because your major is
engineering (the majors of half MS students in CS are not engineering and

不在车厂上班，在 tier 1 auto supplier做engineer.
package如下。MSEE + 5年经验。
1) 年薪，100k，外加10%~15%的bonus.
2) 401k, match到6%的100%，立刻vested.
3) 每年17天PTO，有5天能carry到下一年。
exempt employee好像无所谓病假，事假，迟到早退，给老板说一声就行。
4）没有三大每年夏天的annual shutdown.
5）14天holiday, 包括 新年，MLK, GF, Memorial, 7/4，Labor,
Thanksgiving(Thr+Fri), xms eve through new year。
6) medical, dental, vision，最便宜的HMO全家每月60-70，

发帖数: 34 | 41 小弟国内天大毕业，工作过两年,主要做analog IC design方向，电路设计版图啥的都
会画，有tapeout经验，但是工艺比较落后（.35的）。
然后跑到Poly读了个MSEE，主修的都是数字课程，verilog、FPGA之类，同时帮老师做
了个ADC的项目。
自认为模拟和数字基本功都还可以，在纽约投了几个月简历无果，现毕业裸奔到湾区，
举目无亲，前途未卜，求各路前辈还有师兄师姐们帮忙推荐工作啊，小弟在此拜谢了！

After got a MSEE hear and work for 5 years, now I earn >$100,000 as an electrical engineer. Reading MS here is very easy for Chinese in not good school, BS is not difficulty too.
