译友们切磋一下：
1. 一担谷子
一听谷子心一凉，惭愧五谷不分。一会儿翻成rice，一会儿翻成wheat……回来查字典
，一说millet（查中文是小米、黍，又去查黍……），一说unhusked/unhulled rice（
未脱壳的稻谷）。发言人说的是湖南江永的瑶族女人以前社会地位较高，有支配家产的
权力。有的结拜姐妹捐出十几担谷子，作为共同的基金用于投资。猜想是稻谷吧？“担
”我也没翻出来，回来查是picul，一担50公斤。我该上山下乡一趟……
2. 甲骨文
我翻成writings on the tortoise's shells，心里知道还有写在牛骨和其他骨头上的
，对不起殷墟了……回来查到甲骨的正式翻译是oracle bone，甲骨文可翻成
inscriptions on oracle bones。Oracle是西方的神谕，这不是一下子把考古学纳入神
话学了吗？不熟悉中国文化的人知道oracle bone是什么意思吗？甲骨文的另一种事实

” 内观道“一词出现在《长部14*大本经》中，其内容指的是十支缘起的还灭门，只是元亨版的译法
是”观道“而不是”内观道“：
诸比丘! 尔时，毗婆尸菩萨如是思惟：“此正觉之观道，由我所证悟：名色灭则识灭，识灭则名色
灭，名色灭则六处灭，六处灭则触灭，触灭则受灭，受灭则爱灭，受灭则取灭，取灭则有灭，有灭则生
灭，生灭则老、死、愁、悲、苦、忧恼灭，如是此等全苦蕴灭。”
诸比丘! 于 “灭尽!灭尽” 之思惟，毗婆尸菩萨，于诸前未曾闻之法，眼生、智生、明生、光明生。
此经英译本的译者Maurice Walshe 的用词是：insight （vipassana） way ，所以译成观道或
内观道都应该是正确的，不过insight或vipassana通常都译为内观，所以译成内观道更为清楚。
二、内观道亦是八正道
和上面同样的内容，在相应部12.65经被称作八正道。过去由于没有见 到相应部12.65经的中文版，

certificate,还是出了娄子.
那个minister把我们结婚所在地的county写错了.我们一大早奔到county office被告知
写错了,没收了原来的那表,给了一个复印件,加上两其他的表,必须由minister填写修改
错误的county名字.我们和里头的人左说右说,死活不通融,没办法,我们只要再开回来,
奔到minister家,结果她不在家,几经周折,终于找到她,她填写的所有的表格,修正了错
误的county名字.我们满心欢喜,又奔回county office去.
到了那边,被告知还是开不到certificate,里头的人重新开给我们一份正确的license,
但必须要由minister再签名才有效.我们又左求右求,里头的人还是不通融.没办法,我们
又开回去找minsiter,为了一个TMD的签名!!!
再回去,终于同意给我们开certificate!
整个过程耗时4个小时,LD来来回回开了180mile.我们俩肺都被气炸了.

1989年10月1日前夕，上海市府举办招待酒会，庆祝PRC 建国40周年。来宾中有美
国驻上海总领事。原上海复旦大学校长谢希德，在招待酒会上主动问美国总领事“我们

欲动是何其明显，突尼斯已经基本成功，老大哥埃及也顶不住了，在中东的沙特好像也
有异动的报道。
突尼斯，埃及，沙特这些国家有一个共同点就是经济相对稳定，发展势头也不错，民众
相对富裕，整个社会已经稳定发展了几十年了，但是政治就比较保守，最明显的就是国
家元首基本可以连续执政二十年以上。不过街头革命的意义有多大，成功率如何，对国
家政治进程的帮助有多大，还值得期待。这一波浪潮是否能够轻易化解，穆巴拉克，阿
普杜拉等等估计得废一番心思了。

Chinese engineers to repair Haryana power plant
CHANDIGARH: Chinese engineers will repair the second unit of 300MW capacity
of YamunaNagar power plant, which is non-functional since last year.
Haryana power minister Ajay Yadav said the plant, which is based on Chinese
