Basically they are looking at the difference between ideal chains (gaussian)
and chains in the melt, still others are studying the difference between ideal
chains and theta solvent (yeah, I've earned a little more knowledge on this
and could probably resolve some of you guy's dispute on this).
Cutting short, chains in the melt has an extra constraint of volume

It's decomposition temperature is 238C.
It's decomposotion product is just MMA.
It's glass transition temperature is 105C.
It should be noted that glass transition temperature is not
the melting temperature of the polymers.
It is lower than the melting point.
So, Tm>105C, generally is 20-50C higher.
And it is very common in the general use.
You can try it. |
