发帖数: 453 | 2 我倒是认为Maxwell是Heisman的坟墓，除了2014年的Mariota，和2010的Cam Newton，
再早的2007年Tebow拿了这两个奖，其余近十年来得奖人全都不一样。
可以说除非你的领先优势非常大，否则拿了Maxwell奖的就不用考虑Heisman了，说白了
Maxwell成了一个安慰奖。
今年Heisman的竞争比往年更加激烈，拿了Maxwell奖的Henry悬了

后诸葛。
再有就是 Maxwell 那时没有炸药奖。
另外， Einstein 的确有被犹太人吹捧的成分， 很多人是被犹太洗脑后的惯性。
总之， 相比之下， Maxwell 没被捧没被吹。 |

这一天是12.24， 当时确定行程时就是因为考虑到X'mas前后其它
很多地方都不开。Big Bend NP却反起道而行，X'mas是它冬季最热
闹的时候，公园里的各项服务设施如加油站和餐馆在X'mas Eve和
X'mas也照开不误。此时已是下午两点半左右，Santa Elena Canyon
和通往峡谷的Ross maxwell scenic drive是今天剩下的全部内容。
Ross Maxwell Dr一路风景的确不错，而且有很多trail的起点，可以
挑几个短的随便走走，象Bottom of Burro Mesa Pouroff, 不过往返1迈，
走下去后山崖近在咫尺，可以真正感觉群山环抱，让人想起zion NP;
Tuff Canyon也不错，而且往返不过0.75迈。

当年Maxwell利用前人成果，写出了以他命名的电磁场方程，然后就预言了电磁波。
后来，Einstein 靠自己物理直觉和深邃的思考，写下引力场方程，然后预言了引力波
的存在。
差别在于：
电磁场方程，Maxwell不写出，很快就会有人写出来，我猜可能会推迟二三十年。
这这就像狭义相对论，Einstein不搞出来，很快就会有人写出；
但是引力场方程，Einstein不写出来，还不知道谁能够写出来。
当然，二十年代，Hubble已经开始了他的天文学测量，宇宙膨胀会很快的被认识到；人
类在整个电磁波谱上进行天文测量，几十年后，也开始了。微波背景辐射，即使不知道
引力场方程，也会被观测到。
因此，我认为，Einstein不写出引力场方程，大概上世纪八十九十年代，可能会有人利
用大量的观测成果，搞出引力场方程。就像Maxwell利用前人成果写出电磁场方程。 大
概擦不多这个时候或者晚二十年，人类还是能够探测到引力波。

UIC校区往东两个blocks是著名的Chicago Maxwell Street Market。这个跳蚤市场已有
近一个世纪的历史，是chicago blue的发源地。许多的移民商人在这里创业找寻
American Dream，有早期欧洲移民，犹太人；当今的墨西哥移民。。。许多的美国
native无产阶级在这里谋生而且enjoy life，有小手工艺人，画家，音乐家。。。
人人都可以在市场上摆摊，去市政府办个permit就行了。摊位有固定和临时两种，固定
摊位的vendor大概多是有二十年的历史了。临时摊位vendor每周打电话排队选位。周日
繁星满天时，vendor就开始工作了，上午十点到下午一点是黄金时间，插肩接踵的人流
。下午四点闭市。
