USC, 西海岸，气候不错，不知道从usc finance math毕业工作好找不？
UIUC, 今年刚开的项目，第一届，听同学说uiuc finance 就业还好,好像中西部有个
uof chiago,不知道uiuc在中西部好不好找工作
u of waterloo, Canada, 这个项目不错，竞争也很激烈，听在哪里上学的同学说，这
个项目都找到intern乐，去年经济不好的时候，也都找到了。 可是在加拿大，要是毕
业后想回美国，难不难？
都比较鸡肋，请大家给点意见。

job. But I really don't like the academic life style. I have had
depression for a long period of time. I really would like to be able to
enjoy the time with my new-born baby at nights without worrying about if I
should be writing papers or doing research. I love math. But I also like
to be able to not think about math all the time. I also hating working on
my own too. |

cmu pros:
1) 他们家的part-time和full-time一样对待,可以互相transfer.而nyu不行,我想在最后一年switch成full-time
2) class size, CMU part-time每年大概10人,而nyu part-time有90+人
3) cmu 对part-time也有career service,上resume book, 而nyu不行
4) reputation:据说cmu名声略好?不确定
nyu pros:
1) 学费便宜 ($45000 vs cmu $70000+)
2) 选课灵活,自己定,而cmu都给安排好了,安排得比较死
3) nyu更侧重math,我比较想多学学math,而cmu侧重business/computation
这两个都在nyc,地理区别不大.大家给给建议.. |

u r right, u need a very solid understanding of analysis, measure,
probability, math stats, linear models, asymptotics, decision theory, stat
learning theory...
but my point is how to digest new things efficiently. or put it simply, to
be able to read papers in top journals, to understand new skills in a week..
. then u don't have to start with analysis. if u look at some decent stat

每次出去开会看到一帮30多拖家带口的博后们愁眉苦脸地讨论找工作，都有这种感觉：
王重阳的徒弟全真七子，各个都是江湖上响当当的人物；全真七子的徒弟们就都是些小
角色了，运气好的或许有个混饭的地方；到了尹志平赵志敬这帮人的徒弟，那就只有任
人蹂躏的份了。
跟几个博后聊了聊，很多论年纪都是我的师兄了，一谈到找工作感觉真是一个惨。生物
的再不济可以做千老，搞数学的连千老都做不得。很多都是拖家带口的人了，有的孩子
都快上学了，好不容易拿到一个东欧、南美、或者中东的临时博后位置，收拾收拾东西
说走就走。这种临时位置一般也就一两年，一两年以后呢？呵呵呵呵，不知道。在找博
后的学生很多也是很惨，问了几个都说啥也没找到连面试都没一个。问那你毕业以后去
哪里，说是老板在国内某某学校有兼职，不行可以回国去那里做博后。

那个叫wuyongquan的人数学太烂，乱算，我转帖一个别人的普选票预测，已经包含了佛
罗里达和密歇根的票数。
预测按这样的算法： 有Rasmussenreports民调的，按民调分配选票，不足一张的四舍
五入，没有民调的的几个小州因为倾向性比较强，一律按预估谁占优势就是60：40估算
