享下。RFE的response其实也就是再重新组织材料，重新写的petition letter.
看到RFE， 我感觉IO根本没怎么看我的petition letter, 所以在准备response的时候
，都时时考虑，如果IO粗略扫一眼的话，他能不能get the point. 所以用了很多下划
线，加粗之类的highlight 关键词。格式上每一项，每一小项都分清楚。那些个比较复
杂的证据，如果不是非常强，宁可不要。

部分同学也建议我拿到letter， 去积极claim。
我不想再起波澜。但是对于不实的说法我需要澄清一下。
1/21， 我和yhx通了电话，我向她解释了那个手写的便条是没有用的。上面没有写
tracking number, 没有fedex manager的签字。我需要一个正式的letter。 她答应了
，说周一去fedex store 要。
1/25， 我发emial给yhx，问她拿到了letter没有。
1/26, 我收到yhx的回信 - "我还没有遇到那个经理，弄好了会告诉你"
1/28, 我再次发email给yhx，问她拿到了letter没有。她回信说 “hi, 那个主管的人
本周不在，要明天去，对不起，我最近很忙，再加上看了牙医，牙疼。还没有通知你，

一下。
1.想开一张能证明自己贷款上限的pre-approval letter，这样就省得每个房子都得开
一次，影响credit score。不知道这样好不好？
2.贷款额各个银行不一样，是不是最好找利率好的银行开？但是，在被银行check
credit score之前，怎么知道哪家给的利率好呢？
3.lender pre-approval letter是不是只能银行出？我的agent说他们公司也能连到银
行网络，出示同样的approval letter（也需要check credit）。像这种letter，跟银
行的具有同样的效力吗？听说银行的letter有3个月的有效期，是不是loan agent的这
种letter也有同样有效期？
4. bank statement里有一笔国内的wire transfer，在做pre-approval letter的时候
，银行会要求出示gift letter吗？还是在最后贷款时才需要？

employment letter和offer letter以及employment verification letter (EVL) 的关

简历：
能否在15秒抓住面试官或hr的心就靠这一张纸了。网上有很多介绍如何写简历的文章，
多多参考。有如下几点我觉得一定注意：
1. 一页。
2. 简历内容要按照重要性排列。
3. 一定让朋友，老师或者career advisor帮忙看看简历。
4. 简历上的每个经历都必须熟悉，因为之后面试的问题大多围绕你的简历信息。
5. 简历的内容是“你做了什么”， 而不是“你应该做什么”。

道看过多少别人写的Cover Letter，到现在我们还在想怎么改进我们的Cover Letters
。有人写了30页的Cover Letters，也有人只写了3页的Cover Letters都拿到同样的RFE
。有人写了30页的Cover Letters，也有人只写了3页的Cover Letters都得到批准。我
们不断的在问一个问题，CIS到底要看什么?以及CIS到底看了没有?是否EB-1a,b NIW的
申请真的要靠很多的运气。我想运气是要有一点的。尤其是你本来的资格与准备本来就
弱了点。但是一般人恐怕并不能奢侈的凭运气来申请EB-1a,b 及NIW。尤其是现在申请
费用那么贵，而且优先日期又一再的倒退。
到底Cover Letters要怎么写，以及写什么，要不要把所有的推荐信都引用上去，甚至
是法律上的要求是什么，大家可能都有不同的看法。上个星期我就试过把一个案子交给
四位律师来写Cover Letter。我最主要的目的是想看看不同的人，对于同样的东西有不

offer letter 是你的申请得到对方的approve,表示，好，我给你这个位子了，这封信
就是offer letter。比如H1B，你的PI答应要你后就会给你一个offer letter。当你拿
到offer letter 后如果你又改主意了还可以不去的。
appointment letter是接受这个职位并开始工作之时，系头会写这个信。这个信是报道
时秘书会转给你，并让你签字同意的。
所以就H1B来说，这两个letter是不同的，一个是PI给的，一个是department head给的
。而且写的内容也不一样。
那么对于faculty application/appointment,是否也是同样的会有两个不同的letter呢
？因为山人还没有经历过，我猜想可能同样吧？是否有过来人无聊时愿意说说？ |

一定能贷到款. 一般的buyer agent都会要求自己的client准备一份这样的letter, 因为有的

另一种pre-approval letter是要根据borrower的财务状况给开的,要检查borrower的W2,tax

之前140批了的时候就许诺要分享petition letter， 可是之后家里就出了一些变
故，没有时间来处理这些。而且经过这些变故，深深地感觉到，什么eb1a,eb1b,都算不
上什么难事，能够考虑eb1,eb2的同学们，应该都是一路走来，不说是风调雨顺，也是
学业有成的人，都具有足够的资格。找推荐信,review，过程虽然痛苦，但是那都是幸
福的烦恼呀。正在烦恼的同学们，请相信我的话。而且说实话象我们这种循规蹈矩申请
eb1,2背景简单的人，基本上就是实力说话，根本用不上什么很专业的法律知识，根本
就是给移民律师送钱，真要用到移民律师的时候，平时就做eb1,2 case的移民律师还真
帮不上忙，大家还是义无反顾的DIY吧。

petitioner letter，大概两三页，介绍公司，我的工作和成绩，简单说了下
authorship， review 和original contribution。 我的理解的这个两三页的公司的
letter就叫公司的letter，那个十几页的legal argument叫petitioner letter，不知
道我的理解有没有错？
另外一个问题是关于EB1-B公司提供三个researchers要写在公司的letter里面吗？还是

的petition letter，开始准备NIW。看了几篇模板，发现有些疑问。
1. NIW 不需要列表格，油灯图等吗？为什么我看到的模板都没有这些，只有Exhibit？
2. EB1A的petition条理比较清楚，比方说我要claim三项，就从1，2，3几方面阐述。
但是NIW怎么感觉条理比较混乱呀？
请有经验的前辈指点迷津，小女子不胜感激！

Statement 和 Teaching Statement都写好了，就剩Cover Letter了。现在有
一个问题，这个Cover Letter里面要不要用我当前学校的Letterhead？我搜索
了一下，网上说一定要的和说一定不要的都有，也有很多人说无所谓。
一个小插曲：我们系里所有进入最后面试的申请人的材料都是公开的，所以我
可以看到当年我的申请材料，也可以看到系里的人当初如何评价我的申请材料。
他们当年说，Nonpareil这个人的cover letter写得很烂。我当然也不能找同事们
问问我的cover letter哪里烂。我能想出来的可能就是针对性不强，当年就是觉
得反正也没人读cover letter，就随便写了一个generic cover letter，网上到处
投碰运气的。看来还是有人真的会去读cover letter的。 |

再有，我在写cover letter时力争把材料的编排和描述做得明了，重点突出，以图给IO
一个正面的印象from the very beginning，所以我加上了对supporting document 的
简单描写和材料列表，可能有同学会因此误认为这就是petition letter。petition
letter要具体论述十项条件中最少三项，而我理解cover letter 是petition package
的checklist， 我和大家分享的是cover letter 。
现在我把我的申请时觉得比较有益的思考在这里和大家分享一下，对提问题得同学就不
一一回复了。想到哪里写到哪，比较乱。

petition letter 是说服IO的重要材料， 要写得脉络清晰，论据明了，准确。事实上
，petition letter就是你决定present 什么样的论据， 你要IO从这些论据中得出怎样

故，没有时间来处理这些。而且经过这些变故，深深地感觉到，什么eb1a,eb1b,都算不
上什么难事，能够考虑eb1,eb2的同学们，应该都是一路走来，不说是风调雨顺，也是
学业有成的人，都具有足够的资格。找推荐信,review，过程虽然痛苦，但是那都是幸
福的烦恼呀。正在烦恼的同学们，请相信我的话。而且说实话象我们这种循规蹈矩申请
eb1,2背景简单的人，基本上就是实力说话，根本用不上什么很专业的法律知识，根本
就是给移民律师送钱，真要用到移民律师的时候，平时就做eb1,2 case的移民律师还真
帮不上忙，大家还是义无反顾的DIY吧。
mitbbs上传不了pdf,传图片又太麻烦， 我就建了个yahoo帐号，先把petition
letter传了上去。再次强调，我的petition letter 可以说是把在版里学到的十八般武

or and aline of extraodinary alility(EB1A).你可以选者一些标准去证明。常用的
是authroship, contributions, judge of work by other researchers, etc.
Recommendation letter: 别人（推荐人）为你写个IO的信，去support the claim of
your authorship, contributions, etc.
Recommendation letters can be cited in your petition letter to support your
proof of an outstanding/researcher/professor(EB1B) or an alien of

“The letter must be addressed to the beneficiary employee as in a regular
offer letter. An employment verification letter addressed to USCIS or a
third party will not be accepted by USICS in Eb-1B petition.”所以rfe要了
offer letter。也就是说单单一个employment verification letter是不行的。

去问他们， 刚才收到的回复：
"The petition letter and offer letter are one in the same. If there is
already an existing appropriate offer letter for XXX from when he was
offered his current position then you can simply copy and use it."
我怎么觉得这么奇怪呢？从来没有听说过petition letter and offer letter是同一封

兩者有甚麼不同？
我的理解是Testimony Letter 比方說如的一個文章被選入某期刊。
如果我讓主編寫一个letter來講述雜誌面對的讀者， 選文章是的criteria， 有多少人
投稿，有多少人被選中。 為甚麼我的文章被選中， 等等。 就是證明我發表這篇文章
發生了，而且講述了怎麼發生的。
這樣的是不是就叫testimony letter？ 這樣的letter 是不是開頭就不用浪費篇章闡述
是不是independent 還有主編的的一段背景 等等？
這樣理解對不對呢？ |
