【侨报记者陈辰4月6日纽约报道】春假出游本是一件美事，然而6位留学生却因租车并
造成车祸毁了出游好心情，同时还要面对金额不菲的赔款，作为“倒霉蛋”其中之一的
留学生小刘向《侨报》大吐苦水。
春假伴着纽约气温回暖的气温，不少纽约客利用假期外出游玩，在美学习的留学生
们也一定不会放过这样的出行好时机。
在纽约就读大学的小刘与其5名同学就选择在春假期间到纽约上州游玩，平日在
城市里普遍搭乘地铁并没有购车的他们在一家汽车租赁公司并租用了一辆七座的轿车。
在租车的过程中，签写的租赁合同上只留下了5人的名字，对于其中原因小刘表示：“
我们6个人当中的5人已经拥有正式的驾照，而只有来美不到两年的小张只刚刚拿到学习
驾照（Learner Permit）。于是我们在租车合约上就并没有写上他的名字。”
然而就在6人驾车出游的途中，仅有学习驾照（Learner Permit）的小张同样也坐
到了驾驶位上。紧接着，小张因在驾车途中翻看手机并且在超速的情况下造成车祸。其

you should accident occur, you don't need to buy your own insurance now.
In this case, you buy your own insurance after you get driver license. You
can also transfer title then.
Otherwise, you need to buy your own insurance. I heard Geico sells insurance
to driver w/ learner's permit.
BTW, I thought you cannot drive alone when you only have learner's permit.

给他们秀下你的中国驾照，花20块钱，填个表，笔试一下，
然后就会发你个temporary licence,有效期半年，那的人告诉我，拿这个跟中国驾照一
并使用，就能在这合法开车了。
这个temporary licence跟learner permit类似，同样都有3次路考机会，唯一区别就是
能独自驾车，而learner permit不行。
不知道如果直接拿中国驾照在这上路，被警察查上了，会不会有事，没经验的说。
反正我刚来的时候就是按上述办法，仅供参考。 |

你去参加驾驶考试路考的时候你确定有的就是learner's permit
关于learner's permit的要求你到处能找到
你的这种国外驾照是小众需求，人家也不会专门出章节写的很清楚
就像你说的可以合法开6个月你也只是听说，两本书里都没有明确写
所以你不出事，遇不着找你麻烦的一切ok，遇到了那就是人品问题
我老公考试的时候是朋友开进来的，考官特别检查了朋友的驾照，
确定没问题才让我老公考，你觉得检查朋友的驾照有意义嘛？
而且按说早上发号的时候也该检查护照，但是我去的时候阿三连我的护照都没打开就给我
号了
所以全看你遇到什么人，这边人办事是很没准的
你一个持有临时牌子的人去考试本来目标就比别人大
当然，你也完全可以不理会我说的自己去，也很有可能ok了

名字顺序不一样。我怕工作人员给我搞错了，所以我想确认一下我的Permit上的名字顺

顺便说一下，从外州Learner Permit转到威斯康星Instruction Permit的流程（非常简
单）：
带1. Passport
2. Apartment lease
到DMV说要转，把原来的Permit给他看看，交35刀，搞定，走人！！
不用再考试啦！只要有lease就行，完全不用等银行statement或者各种水电费单子。 |

至于其他方面的英文写作，或者家里有小朋友想帮助他们写作英文的，那么我想说说自
己的看法，见笑了。
我个人认为，因为英文不是我们的母语，我们平常说话时光顾着用英文表达要说的话要
费的脑子不少，所以对英文的节奏什么的都不怎么敏感，所以写作有行文呆板的问题不
奇怪。而这个问题看书不容易解决，因为语言的主动和被动运动是很不同的，我们习惯
看书时时fast reading，除非看很多很多本，否则不容易靠看书就领略语言细节不容易。
所以感觉还是要靠苦功来练，一定要每周（每天有点不现实）抽点时间来写一篇，再大
幅度更改。我自己比较polemic，所以素材一般是在NYTimes, Project Syndicate，
Financial Times或在blogsphere上挑篇不顺眼的，就开始狂踩它。写完了，冷静后再
改。
首先是学习active词汇最好的办法就是用一遍。写文章时觉得什么词表达到意思用上即
可，但修改时，最好有本同义字典，查查你觉得不大精准的词的同义词，然后查字典来

当时没人在 所以留了张纸条在对方车上 想着联系赔偿啥的。 结果车主联系了我 同时
还叫了警察 结果警察过来处理完后 给了我一张ticket.
charged原因是 Operate a motor vehicle on a street or highway by failing to
see before starting that such movement could be made in safety.(G.S. 20-154)
other information - Traffic : Light, Accident: NO.
八月份就要上庭了 想问下 这张ticket有可能被驳回或者取消吗？因为现在还是
learner permit, 非常担心会换不到驾照，谢谢。

is required to accomplish the job, SVM or Boosting Algorithm are suggested.
Further based on your class example distribution, some imbalanced mining
tricks can be applied to improve the overall performance. That's my 2 cents |

，年龄大的很难PK得过小姑娘们。我又是转行，学历比不上人家，工作经验更是谈不上
。我当初看来看去，唯一称得上优势，或者说去掉一个劣势的是，我有绿卡。这一点非
常重要，没有绿卡，大龄青年们找工难度比高考进重点还大。
我那时仔细想了想，首先生物一定是不能继续下去了，太折磨我了，做postdoc我不如
去死。其次我数学太烂，IT统计等等热门也不可能学，PharmD没钱又太久，护士不比会
计好找工作。当然最关键的是，我确实喜欢会计。像我前面提到的，要不是我家庭强烈
反对（他们没有办法理解怎么会有人放着全奖不念博士，跑去自费念国内烂大街的会计
），我早改行了。既然现在没有回头路，那就义无反顾的跳坑了。
