"He called it a "Race Week/non-Race Week" schedule. It's been discussed here
many times but somehow doesn't seem to penetrate the general consciousness.
It goes something like this:
Day 1 Long run
2- Time trial, 5-10 km
3- aerobic run
4- mid long aerobic run
5 Reps, something like 6x800, 3-4xmile, etc.
6 easy aerobic run
7 time trial, 5-10km (probably the distance you didn't do on Day 2. You
could also put some "fast, relaxed strides" onto on... 阅读全帖 |

By Anna Novick
When Yuki Kawauchi broke the tape as third overall and the first
Japanese finisher at the Tokyo Marathon in February, the 24-year-old
stood out from the crowd.
Not for his lean 5’7, 130 lb distance runner physique, not because he
collapsed and was taken to the medical tent, and not even because his
stellar time of 2:08:37 won him a chance to run on the Japanese men’s
marathon team at the IAAF World Track and Field Championships’ Marathon

Mr. Kawauchi stood out because unlike most elite-level runners in Japan, who
’re backed by a corporation, he’s an amateur in the full sense of the word.

Excavations are beginning at the site of a former medical school in Japan
which could yield evidence of war-time experiments on prisoners.
The site in western Tokyo is said to be linked to Unit 731 of the Japanese
Imperial Army, which used prisoners for biological warfare experiments.
The excavation was ordered after a former nurse came forward.
Toyo Ishii said workers were made to bury doze... 阅读全帖 |

the guy (Yuki Kawauchi) was said to be " in so much pain for the last few km
that he was running with his eyes shut and almost missed a couple turns.
Upon finishing, he passed out and had to be taken away in a wheelchair. "
very inspiring. |

finished Tokyo marathon, that is 强大毅力. Jogging one mile a day for years
does not require 强大毅力. Any one with OCD can do it. |

我连业余的都算不上,都是自己为了锻炼身体三天打鱼两天晒网的跑跑。

哈哈……减掉10~20lbs后,估计跑到8~9mph还是有可能的。 |

A week ago, in the 2012 Kagawa Marugame International Half Marathon, former
NCAA star Alistair Cragg ran 1:03:39 and finished 65th. 58 Japanese men ran
faster than him in this race. Only 17 Americans had run faster than this
time in ALL of 2011. Yuki Kawauchi ran 1:02:18 and only placed 27th. This is
crazy. |

Just because you didn't make it to the NBA doesn't mean that you don't try
