美国人一般不觉得我说英语很好
中国的女的,有的只是刚来来读硕士一年,说的英语,虽然都是很简单的句子和词汇,

着眼睛你会觉得是白人说话,因为他连声线都练过了。abc说话你能听出来是abc,因为
亚洲人声线和白人不同。
相比之下很多国人来美国十年连基本的intonation是怎么回事都没搞清楚,linking和
distress更是一坨糟。
口语,语言这个事情,是你用不用心的问题,不是人家故意刁难。

我们学校曾经请专业人士给我们这些ESL的教师培训过,专讲英文发音与“intonation
”。 其中一部分重点内容就是如何正确的发弱辅音甚至吞音, 后者是要口舌做出发音
的姿势但不真正的“make sound”。 至于语境中的effective communication,其实在
一个句子中的正确停顿、重轻音与升降调比单纯清楚地说出每一个单词要重要得多。
说到底还是要不断逼自己多听多学。 多看些时事性强的新闻节目与语境内容复杂的剧
, 像“Friends”这种太简单的东西,对于有一定基础后想要进一步提高其实已经没大
帮助了。

的,甚至可以吞掉的(见楼上回复),但是把连元音带辅音整个音节吞掉,我在电视播
音员中没听过,在faculty中也是少数。我觉得培训你的人应该也是可以吞掉一些辅音
的意思,而不是吞掉整个音节。
你举的影视作品的例子,其实这些作品中大部分演员(至少电影演员)是具备发音清晰
标准的功底的,那是他们的必备训练之一。但有时候作品需要他们模仿各种角色,比如
警察、毒贩、红脖子、投资经理、移民、体育教练、服务员、不良少年等,因此很多影
视作品中演员的发音各种各样。比如最近很火的星际穿越中的男主,就是故意模仿了红
脖子农民的口音。但是如果你看剧中的faculty,无论是年代久远的friends中的Ross,
还是正在播的TBBT中的Sheldon等人,他们的发音都是很清晰的,不会整个音节吞掉。
如果影视作品中faculty较少,那么看看法官、律师等职业,虽然说话语调风格各异,
吞掉音节是极少遇到的。

清晰地发音,还有正确的intonation (音调,重音)。以前自以为很流利地吞掉的音
都被她一一指出。单词中元音有重读,弱音,还有占位不发音的,但是这些音都不可以
省略。上完课后我的发音确实比以前上了一个大台阶。
其实平时说话的时候,有意识地注意native speaker是怎么发音的,如果听起来与自己
不同,再有意识地去纠正。一个星期就可以完全纠正过来。 |

错的可以深交. 你现在这个问题, 首先找学校找老师, 其次有没有可能几家女主人沟通
一下(但我不知道你跟这两个邻居的关系究竟如同,这个可能性要你自己来判断).
关于口音, 一是跟儿子说,下会再有人嘲笑父母的口音, 大力反击,"Well, you'd
better get used to it. Because when you go to college, many professors have
accents too." 二是自己改进, 我个人认为关键是语调(intonation),而不是每个词的
发音, 三跟儿子讲,欧洲人讲英语有口音,澳大利亚人有口音, 印度人有口音,美国内部

a few of my friends have benefited from it.
Pronunciation and intonation are important, but not that important. It's ok to
have accents as long as you can be understood.
Some schools have classes for non-native speakers to improve their English.
There is a class during MIT's IAP about speaking in front of the public for
foreigners. Pretty good.
Definitely helps to have native-speaker friends. |
