还有Blur的同名和The Verve的Urban Hymns。
用磁带的Walkman听，班里好像还有Walkman的攀比之风，我的不怎么好，基本不带到学
校去，就在家做功课的时候听。
那个时候还有免费的Napster，家里网速很慢，下歌每秒2K左右的速度，所以能下完一
首歌也挺不容易的，经常看着进度条，一边下的时候就一边听了好多遍。那个时候也是

音乐厅Humphrey's Concerts的座椅弄得湿润一片。望着音乐厅外面停得密密麻麻的游
轮桅杆，海风把一阵阵奢华的气息吹进来，很难想象我是要在这么一个地方来聆听Dead
Can Dance。
来到圣地亚哥刚好两月，偶然翻看DCD的网站，才知道在九月27日晚上7点半要来这儿演
出。赶紧上网买票，苦等两天之后终于等到重售，票价加起来将近80刀，真正是在抢钱
。一个朋友开车带我到了音乐厅，门口一群红男绿女，穿着打扮各式各样，有适合去
Gothic的，有适合去Classic的，也有适合去Pop的，不知道为什么DCD的歌迷差别会这
么大。当然，其中还有一个青年音乐爱好者，穿着打扮不伦不类，混迹其中，那就是鄙
人。由于到的时候已经是7点20过，进去以后Lisa和Brendan已经登场，大群听众还在找
座位。掌声、口哨声、呼声响成一片。找到座位坐下来，第一首歌已经开始。跟其它演
唱会几乎一模一样，又是Nierika。Lisa身着一袭明黄色的长袍，灯光照耀下恍若圣女

美国耶鲁大学法学院华裔教授蔡艾美（Amy Chua）日前出版的「虎妈妈的战歌」（
Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother）引发了美国社会对中国式教育理念的热烈讨论。
粗看一看虎妈的教育理论，无非是中国乃至东亚严厉教育法的现代改版，所谓的棍棒底
下出孝子，严师出高徒。
虽然新闻报道中引用现代心理学家的理论，来支持虎妈教育理念的部分合理性。但是毫
无疑问，这个孤立的事件能引起广泛的关注和当今社会的背景有着十分密切的联系。试

全美喜剧节2010
2009年的时候，我答应艾迪参加全美喜剧节的比赛，但是后来因为要去参加《艾伦
秀》，我就把那次比赛推掉了。2010年6月，我参加了全美喜剧节，这个喜剧节是在约
翰尼·卡森的老家诺福克举行的。约翰尼·卡森是20世纪60年代到80年代末非常红的脱
口秀主持人。约翰尼·卡森去世以后，诺福克每年都会举办一个全美喜剧节来纪念这位
脱口秀界的传奇人物。主办方会在美国各地选拔20到24个单口相声演员，邀请他们到这
儿来参加比赛。
已故的喜剧大师乔治·卡林说过，在美国的中西部表演单口相声是最痛快的，因为
那里的人非常欣赏单口相声，而且都非常热情。而我的感受是，诺福克人比他描述的还
要热情。
在全美喜剧节期间，诺福克的志愿者会开车去机场接那些从各地赶来的喜剧演员，
并带着他们在城里逛。第一天，招待我的志愿者带我到一个叫"威士忌小溪"的餐厅吃饭
。那个餐厅吃饭之前会提供一碟带壳儿的花生，服务员告诉我可以把壳儿扔在地上。我
当时有点疑惑，因为在有些州里，随地扔东西要罚款1000美元。那家餐厅的烤肉非常好

有佳。
虎妈出书《Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother》，意思就是ABC(或者直接称“Asian”
)们不管成绩再好都是父母push出来的，大学录取committee们本来招生时就避开亚裔，
受了这本名作的影响更避开亚裔。而白人孩子则被外F们捧成“综合素质高”
还有一次聚会上，在坐的老中父母们都在抱怨AA。只有外F在拥护AA，认为华人的SAT分
数线比白人高天经地义。
比如外F在评价姚明时，就说“姚明打球不好，仅仅因为他是中国人，所以NBA为了广告
收入才雇佣的他。”完全忘了大学招生时多花纳税人钱招那么多老黑连商业原因都没有。
还有jeremy lin，也或多或少受周围外F思潮的影响，stanford不招他完全是种族原因
。后来报纸骂他chink，骂他的人都被裁了，他竟然为那人开脱说不是种族歧视 |

原来对WF没有什么关注，但是这两天看了之后觉得为什么为了这个吵得不可开交呢？
人应该不要太狭隘，亚洲人是亚洲人，非亚洲人也是人，
人与人之间相遇相知结婚一起生活都是缘分所致，
跨越文化虽然也是对生活的一种挑战，但是中国也很大，不同的地方的人一起生活也有
不同的文化差异需要跨越
嫁中国人的，婚姻有幸福有不幸福的，嫁非中国人的，也是一样。有的女孩子性格比较
适合跟中国人组成家庭，有的更适合跟非中国人组成家庭，都是非常正常的事情。生活
婚姻，幸福与否，冷暖自知。
中国的女生，嫁中国人也好，嫁非中国人也好，最重要的是是否相处都融洽，是否能走
过风雨最终互爱互勉。这样何必吵呢？我是真的不太明白。
