都说国内很彪悍，但是也不至于像想象中那么坏，至少还是有好人在，比如公交车上让
座
那天在上海，我一个人拎俩箱子，带一个娃，挤地铁，现在想想都觉得有点后怕。那天
脑残正好赶上下班高峰
地铁就是传说中的那种挤，我也一点没含糊，一手拽大箱子，一手拽小箱子和娃，拿出
当年挤火车那种彪悍，但是，第一趟，我还是虚了，没敢冲
第二趟，往上挤了，也上去了。
我让孩子扶着那个柱子，自己拎着箱子，准备硬扛的，旁边一个人拉我一下，示意我过
去坐
还有一次也是，拿着行李换乘地铁，一个好心的上海大妈直接帮我牵着娃的一个手上地
铁了（我牵着另外一只手瞬间放开拎行李）
同样在其他城市的高铁站，排队打车的时候，尼玛身强力壮的一个男人居然直接插队窜
到我前面去了。
所以大环境，魔都还是好得多。
衙门的服务态度明显好的多了，可能是在严打吧，一点不含糊
去换驾照，过期了几个月，renew
从进门照相到各种流程跑一圈，不到10分钟搞定
衙门真有钱，那个交管所修的，只能用高大上来形容了
一进门，一地的座椅整齐划一，神码取号机，每个流程的地方都有

我当时车停在chinatown，坐地铁10分钟到grand chicago，本来只要走5分钟到大使馆
，结果很白痴的走错方向，花了20分钟绕回来。。
人很多，上午的号就领完了。下午只放拿到号的人重新进去。
我11点半拿的号，拿了直接出去逛街吃饭，下午回去等。一直到5点钟关门才办完。那
天不知道为什么空调坏了，里面热得象蒸笼，写字楼的工作人员还不准人呆在hallway
。。热死了。结果睡了一觉。。。
看了一个下午。发现材料带齐全很重要。轮到我也只是3分钟看完材料就ok了。
总的来说服务比我想的好，工作人员都尽量帮忙把护照换了，包括各种各样的奇怪case
，没有带全材料等等。其中一个大叔嚷嚷到把领事叫出来解决。另外一个大叔带了一个
行李箱的材料，办了整整一个下午，从一点到5点，后来单独给他开了个窗口。一个女
士没有合法美国身分证明。都办了，但是结果就是很慢啊。很多一家一家的，都只拿一
个号，办理速度当然也慢。我前面的同学换护照连I－20都没有带，也给办了，工作人
员给讲回去怎么fax。
我那天办理签证的美国人不多，叫号快主要是因为空号多。不知道为什么。

超过3次。他以为我也是part time,没怎么搭理我。
但是在一次员工大会上介绍时他发现我是full time 还是administration position,从
此就粘上了。让我告诉他个人电话，我把办公室电话给他了。他把自己的电话给我了。
我就随便接下来，没搭理他。他还说“Russian like to speak to Chinese women.
Call me when you are lonely".非常disgusting,这些话是在hallway里说的。
他看我不打电话，后来就直接到办公室找我，每个星期一次，以各种名目，比如
veterian day要握手啦，每周二是hug day,需要give him hug. 我跟他正色说过"We
are
busy now，please leave"
结果这个人是个二皮脸，今天又来了。敲办公室门说，就想说Hi.这样的情况可以和老
板说吗？可以告诉HR吗？这算不算骚扰？他这样做的时候有时也当着别的同事的面。别

1. Is the Husband still in jail? Or he got the restriction order? Why
he cannot talk to the wife. BTW, in court, even in the hallway, it
could be monitored. Even if you spoke in Chinese, it could be known to
other people even though it might not be taken as evidence.
2. Is the court appearance the 1st time? If so, he just pleads not
guilty on all charges. Nothing else.
3. Does he have a lawyer? |

名休班警员遇上一名劫匪抢劫和企图抢枪，结果警员佩枪打中劫匪上半身，送院抢救。
旧金山警方表示，3日清晨6时接报指Leavenworth街和Pine街交界传出枪声，警员赶到
现场，却无发现。
据初步调查，有人用木棍试图打烂一辆汽车玻璃爆窃，一名途人路过喝止，但疑犯反用
木棍敲打并抢劫对方。该途人起初无报警，并自行返家清理，然后上班。该途人上班途

房子在哈佛广场地铁附近的一座condo里，月租金1700，包括家具，有水电，暖气，以
及高速网路。现在考虑短期出租，暂定一个半月，但是时间可以商量，寻求爱干净的房
客。
房间位于整个condo的顶楼，所以即使在冬天也还是光线充足并且很温暖，而且是在客
厅和卧室窗户都打开的 情况下。
condo内部的basement里面可以洗衣服和倒垃圾，所以冬天下雪的时候可以不用出门。
整个apartment有职业公司管理，所以水管坏了等等之类的问题可以基本不用和房东打
交道，直接找condo manager就行了。
房子包括一个卧室，一个客厅，一个厨房，一个洗手间，还有三个closet分部在
hallway 和卧室。地处哈佛广场，距离各种商店地铁站和咖啡馆只有步行五分钟的距离
。另一方面却地处比较安静的居民区，平时基本听不到汽车的声音（不用担心早上被吵
醒）。

发帖数: 35582 | 12 昨天晚上基本上完工了，胡师傅说等我们地板什么的弄完了以后他在回来看看，如果磕
了碰了给补补。
主要是两大块:
1. 拆掉原来的over range的微波炉，装抽油烟机。我家的range不在外墙那一侧，要开
天花板走烟道，不是很长，7-8feet吧。碰到一些麻烦，首先是天花板好多层，打开比
较费事。然后是range的正上方正好是一根joist，所以立管上去得走个S形的弯绕一下。
2. 一楼的客厅,hall way，餐厅刷漆，整修。
胡师傅前前后后一共干了大概四天半到五天的样子。抽油烟机那块因为我家cabinet没
有顶到天花板，给用木头做了个带trim边的盒子放在cabinet上面把管道给封起来，挺
漂亮的。
刷漆那块其实刷墙花的时间不长。而且我们跑去Homedepot, Sherwin-Williams几趟，
最后挑来挑去，试了好多种sample (sample的钱都不止一桶漆了),最后发现还是用原来
的颜色最好，只是把其中一面小墙换一个颜色，让房子显得更生动一些。胡师傅主要的
时间都花在这块了。老房子了，窗子，门，各种trim，框很多地方都开裂，墙也有些不

This house has 683 sf finished basement and has 682 unfinished basement. I
am not sure how many s f. for the finished room, bathroom and the hallway.
Two car garages may be 24X 26 = 624. 683 is included in 2811. The first and
second floor may be around 2130.
Serious waste of footage on the first floor -- a room is difficult to find
how to use.Three bedrooms on the second floor, good, but just 3 bedrooms.

我家厕所：一个厕所每个15分钟自动flush一次，这个把我家孩子给吓得，因为是她房
间的厕所，半夜三更flush很吓人；主卧厕所，每隔两天就有水从tank边流出来，所以

弹起来，得自己拔回来。

都很好,就决定在这两个地方查找. 海边全都是vacation rental,我查到的VRBO的1bd
condo的价格,Destin和Fort Walton的beach front都是200左右,不靠海的就便宜些,100
多点, 其实离海滩也就几百米吧. 这个价格相比那里的hotel算是很公道了.
很多1bd condo的living room是有沙发床的,另外还有hallway/den里面的bunker bed,
所以如果是单身去玩,租个1bd condo也可以住3-6个人. 如果是一家4口去玩,也足够了.
我们email骚扰了一堆VRBO的房主,发现很多报价都比网上的低,估计经济不好,现在租算
是last minute deal了...初步打算租在Destin Harbor附近,靠近各处好吃的好玩的,不
知道会不会太热闹了一点? 半夜会不会吵得睡不着觉? 如果是这样那我们就要换个地方
了...
希望我们去的时候天气晴朗,可以玩很多户外运动,综合了各位的宝贵经验和网上搜索的

Riverwalk is a rental building.
Their look and feel are very different. Hallways in Hudson club appear
narrow and dark. And depending on which building and floor, it can smell
pretty awful. Inside, they are also smaller units than riverwalk.
Unless you are talking about riverbent.
The problem with riverbent is, it's relatively older too. You definitely can
HEAR your neigbor fucking, and vice versa. |
