week of vacation time that I could use to climb but nobody to climb with, so
I got this crazy idea of solo climbing all 14ers in Elk range in Colorado.
Day 1: Castle
An easy peak and a good warm up hike for me so I could get a chance to
acclimatize. Met someone on the summit who told me he did Maroon Group grand
slam (Maroon Bell traverse + Pyramid) under 8 hours last year. Amazing.

达到自己期望的3：20，但绝对是
个confidence booster.
再说准备。从训练的角度来说，这次是准备得非常不充分的，因为原本也没打算春季跑
全马，只是因为跑了20 miles
long run之后因为受伤停跑了，头脑一发热就报了这个比赛。赛前三周(从最后一次
long run算起)的mileage分别只有
21，23，12。
但是这次有了经验，特别注意了饮食。因为我的肠胃比较脆弱，坐飞机来Vienna的时候
又出了大问题，差点进医院，所
以这周吃的特别注意，谢绝了和同事一起吃晚餐的机会，每天就是去同一个韩国餐馆吃
bimbimbab，午餐和晚餐都是这
个，之间吃whole grain bread和香蕉。赛前一天不吃whole grain了，因为fiber含量
太高，只吃香蕉和米饭，而且是
细嚼慢咽保证消化。这样折磨了一周还是很值得，这次比赛中完全没有肠胃问题，不象
上次。
比赛9点开始。之前在网上看了一个关于Haile Gebrselassie的纪录短片，中间Haile提

1。不能什么都一味怪到chinese system.看一个国家的问题,要纵向看.折腾了100多年,
大家都明白,只要政治稳定,不折腾,什么都可以改好的.如果想突变,唯一的后果就跟当
年的文革一样,一团糟.至少现在当街骂胡靠没人管了.1990年以前的几千年里,中国人什
么时候敢当街骂皇上?至少现在13亿人差不多能吃饱饭,住进了房子.
2。可以肯定的是,haile他们现在在他们国家属于富人.他现在脱贫了,他可以enjoy跑步
.他小时候练被教练逼着跑步未必就很高兴.跑步是他们的脱贫致富的一个重要手段之一
.你只看到了haile一个,他们还有无数个人在争取出头.放心吧,中国再差,也是比肯尼亚
好的.
3。王军霞她们当年也只是10多20岁的农村孩子,要么跑步,要么回家种田.跑步再苦,也
没挑几十斤菜赶集赚个几毛钱苦,更不会以后被人当民工歧视.跑步那么花时间的事情,

great leg speed and endurance.
Secondly, it is not true that he ran the last two miles both sub 4. He ran
the last mile in 4 minutes. Only one
person, Daniel Komen, has ever run back-to-back sub 4 minute miles, in a two-miler, and he is the
only one to have run a sub 8-
minute two-mile. Guess who has the second best two-mile time in the world?

with top notch competition. There are plenty of courses flatter than Berlin,
but Haile Gebrselassie wouldn't choose anywhere else for his world record
attempts. Of course, Berlin also offers a lot of money to the winners, but
Haile doesn't need any more money. |

the average pace is 7:41. Got very worried after the first mile for the pace
7:49 as I did not know whether I can hold on there...The most hard one was
in mile 4 as I saw the gap between two of us was enlarging...Glad I did not
quit and finally caught up. I guess he did a good job of controlling the

years. Wanjiru died. Bekele has been injured for a long time and nobody
knows when/if he'll be back. Haile on
the other hand has been at the top of his game for 20 years. It just shows

琢磨着博士毕业找到博士后再考虑是不是回家看看。而就是前两个星期，老爸忽然说想
我了，想让我回家，让我觉得很是伤感。。。他不是木头人吗。。然后就买了机票，很
奇怪，买了机票后，变得十分的不淡定了，满脑子就是想回国，想看看我家现在是什么
样了，想看看妈妈，爸爸。突然觉得自己真是很不孝啊。
恩，本来想过几天再写这个帖子，因为现在距离我正式跑步一年以来还有10天的时间。
这一年对我来说真是戏剧性变化的一年：从一个从来不跑步的couch potato 转变成一
个星期跑上百miles的跑步疯子。总之，我觉得现在，不论是我的锻炼身体还是我的学
习研究都算走上了一个非常平衡的轨道。我想，这完全得益于这一年坚持不懈地长跑和
上跑版来看大家的那激动人心的训练，比赛以及人生感悟。
这一年，我对自己的在跑步上的执行力还算是满意的：即使是在堪萨斯冬天最冷的那段
时间，仍然坚持了每周至少50miles的长跑，无论刮风下雪，从未懈怠。即使受伤，也
会每天去游泳来维持有氧fitness level.

一打听，原来5月中旬这里有比较大的一次hail storm，冰雹把很多家的房子屋顶都砸
坏了。我们找了一个contractor来做了inspection，说我们的房子屋顶也得换。冰雹是
在5月中旬，正好是做完了home inspection之后、close之前的日子。我们立刻通过
agent联系seller那边，那边一开始说他们的保险公司说weather report上没有冰雹这
回事，直接ignore我们。我们给他们看了National Weather Service上关于本地区5月
中旬的hail damage report还有contractor的estimate，他们开始退一步，但是不说修
屋顶也不说不修，只是但是要让我们的保险公司和他们的保险公司交涉。我们联系了现
在的保险公司，人家听完了说，这事和他们没关系，因为是我们的policy之前的damage
，不管，他们也不愿意出面和对方扯皮。球给踢回来了，没办法，seller那边一如既往
的有一搭没一搭的回复我，跟我们耗时间。

1）车是纯新，101miles表显示，是base的低配，没有天窗没有导航。但是有黑色皮座
椅和内饰看上去还是打孔的；有前排座椅加热，双区恒温空调。仙气大灯。还有电动开
合的后背箱门，这个配置很好阿，非常时候有孩子的家庭，尤其个子不高力气不大的女
神。外观是灰色，就这一辆，在dealer呆了6个月，他们要清仓。我们州卖的最多的都
是柴油的，貌似vw现在靠这个活着。汽油的没人要。低配的更没人要。
2）车价还可以谈，销售姑姑自己说的。但是必须lease or finance才可以32xxx。如果
cash，恐怕是35000。
3）我问了是否hail，她说的不是很清楚，但他们保证都修好了。我认为可能有轻微
hail damage，但是我看不出来。而且她说记录上绝对没有。dealer的保险是不跟车走
的。
4）外洲也可以买，可以先远程做手续，然后自己提车，或者她给运，大概是0.5$一
mail的样子，到加洲可能要500－1000刀。全程都是有他们的保险的。如果自己提，她

）。
露西是人类的直系祖先吗？她真的是大家所宣称的「人类的母亲」吗？法新社报导
，根据刊登在期刊「自然」（Nature）的报告，在衣索比亚阿法（Afar）同一个区域，
发现生活在同一个时代另一个种类的原始人。
发现者表示，命名为南方古猿近亲种（Australopithecus deyiremeda）的原始人
和露西，可能只是我们直系祖先众多人选的一部份。
克里夫兰自然历史博物馆的海尔塞拉西（Yohannes Haile-Selassie）说：「这个
新品种原始人再次证实，露西所属的南方古猿阿法种，不是人类唯一祖先的可能种类。」
「目前的化石证据清楚显示，至少有2、3个品种的原始人同时在相近的地理位置生
活。」
在阿法区发现的上下颚遗骸，大约有330万到350万年的历史，与露西所属的品种，
290万到380万年时间重叠。
