上周六， Trump 在 Gettysburg 发表了一个演讲 “a Contract with American
Voters”. 不用说Trump 选择Gettysburg 有很明确的象征意义。因为林肯1863年在
Gettysburg 发表过演说，而且Gettysburg是美国南北战争的转折点。可以理解，Trump
也希望Gettysburg的讲演可以使他摆脱那些女人对他指责造成的负面影响，成为他竞选
的的转折点。
虽然有人说Trump讲话的前半部分过于强调自我，从而冲淡的讲演的震撼效果。可是我
觉得Trump讲演的前半部分非常Personal. 他强调自己原来是个Insider，他非常明白现
在的体制是Against Everyday Americans。自己也从来没有想成为一个政客，只是因为
现今美国的状况，比如有四分之一的美国人在他们应该工作的年龄却失业，五分之一的
美国家庭没有一个人在工作，45 Million On Food Stamps， 47 Million在贫困线以下

Robert E. Lee知道北方有很强的和平主义运动，如果他的士兵可以占领某个北方
地区，如果他们在北佬的土地上打败了敌人，他相信北方会向他企求和平。他决定
把军队开到北方，这是个巨大的赌博，但是Lee的大胆过去曾让他成功。
这是1863年的夏初，Lee遭遇了脾气爆燥的Meade将军率领的联邦军，地点在宾州一
个安静的大学城Gettysburg，在这里，道路如同车轮的幅条一样汇聚。这个是如同

North generals not are as imaginative as Lee. At Gettysburg, Lee probably
did not have as much aspiration as LIU & DENG. He probably just wanted to
bitten north in order to sway the north election and the international view
(France & England).
During the civil war, probably only Grant and Sherman practiced supply from
local in the later stage of the war as part of their total war strategy. |

遭到惨败，但是想攻克华盛顿是不可能的。
Lee的想法也有正确的地方，那就是南军长期敌领土上无补给行军，已经非常疲劳，
如果不趁着最后士气还旺的时候发动进攻，而是像Longstreet想法那样后撤，对士气
会是很大的打击。就算Lee把军队放置到了Gettysburg和华盛顿中间，以林肯的小心，
是绝对不会在华盛顿不留守卫部队的，并且由于army of potomac也是急行军刚赶到
Gettysburg，后面行动较慢的部队还没到，还有时间构筑守卫华盛顿的新防线。
而army of potomac也有相当大的恐李症，Lee要做好了防线，Meade是不会攻击Lee的。
从Meade大胜之后都没敢攻击Lee就能看出来。而李将军敢在敌领土上绝对不可能有补给
的情况下，挖好壕沟蹲里面不走了么？ |

所谓“Unconditional Surrender Grant”的名望，就是在Vickburg一战打出。1863
年独立节前，东有Gettysburg，西有Vickburg，北军两次大捷，战局顿时改观。
一直有意去南北战争几大战场走走看看，到目前为止去过了Gettysburg、Antietam、
Manasas、Fredericksburg、Chancellorsville等几处，Vicksburg、Shiloh、Chika-

第一天下午1pm到的DC拿到车先到Gettysburg，PA走马观花两个小时，完事开车到的
Corning,NY 就是玻璃出名的地方过夜。
第二天看了玻璃博物馆然后开车到的瀑布，三点到的坐了船，周围走走，没有留下看夜
景，然后大概晚上1030pm到的那个woodbury outlet，周围住下。
第三天看了西点军校，然后shopping，下午4点到的纽约住在time square的marriott。
晚上周围走了走，去的korean town吃的晚餐
第四天参加了一个纽约市内的one day tour,带你看了看著名的景点，下午三点结束我
俩又去了那个航母的地方，还有帝国大厦
第五天早上离开纽约去的费城，看了看independence hall和那个钟，吃了cheesesteak
然后就离开去DC下午5点到的DC住在chinatown附近
第六天参加了一个DC室内一日游，看了平时自己停车会很难的景点。下午4点结束的 晚
上开车去tyson corners的mall转了转，吃的韩国料理又来屋

对林肯的了解是零星拼凑出来的，这本书摧毁了我脑海里之前那个模糊的幻象，然
后完
完全全地重塑了一个崭新的林肯。那就是：如果这个世界上真有一个最接近耶稣的、为
全人类赎罪的人，那个人肯定是林肯。他背负了如此多的不幸，却为美国奠定了独立建
国以来最重要的基石。
即使知道早年的美国总统是一个很苦逼的职业，但是从杰斐逊改变党派以便角逐总统这
件事情来看：虽然苦逼但是也还是很有吸引力的。
与林肯的悲惨痛苦比起来，其他总统绝对是生活在天堂了。而我拥有的那些微不足道的
有关总统的知识根本不足以应对扑面而来的悲伤凄苦，而做出任何有效的缓冲和抵抗。
如同我们常说的那样，幼年丧父，中年丧偶，老年丧子为人生三大悲剧。其中任何一个
已经足够令当事人痛不欲生、无力自拔了，而林肯则是三样皆全，外加自己丧命。
林肯的妈妈是个女佣和富贵公子的私生女，成年之后嫁个了一个Kentucky的猎户木匠（
其实就是打散工的），后来全家移居Illinoi 。他们刚刚到达目的地的时候，冬天便降
临了。书里说他们住在只有三面挡风、一面全开的、没有房顶、没有地板（直接泥地）
