International Ballroom Dance Club (IBDC) ，为了让大家能够更好的了解国标舞，
为工作之余增加更多的娱乐内容，暑期将开设暑期班，现扩大招生，开始报名。具体招
生如下：
1． 暑期班为期2个月 （7月，8月），一共9节课 ，每节课1个半小时
2． 分初级（零起步）和中级班（以前学过）。并设有拉丁舞班， 摩登舞班，以及拉
丁摩登舞混合班！

大温地区虽然是加拿大西部最繁华的地区之一，但在军事上确实没有什么建树，原来在
UBC的考古博物馆旁还有一个海岸炮台遗址，不过前一段时间去看，发现一切都已经荡
然无存，除了几个炮台的几座还孤单的伫立在荒草之中。
不过虽然这样，但温哥华市内还是有两个兵营，虽然不能进，但是看外表还是很气派的
。其中一个在Burrard桥旁，如果知道Land Rover专卖店的朋友，那旁边的建筑就是军
营了。
还有一个在cambie桥附近的Downtown区域，在军营外面还有几辆二战的M-4谢尔曼坦克
，要想怀旧可以去哪里。不过说句实在话，把军营安在那边，难道想藏兵于人民之中搞
游击战？真的很不理解。
另外在New WestMinster还有两个景点，一个是Museum of the Royal Westminster
Regiment，在530 Queens Avenue，不过其中多是图文介绍，展品不多，可以顺便去参
观；还有一个是Cobra Foxtrot class submarine，是一艘前苏联潜艇，原来好像是停
在西雅图湾区的，后来给拖到温哥华来了，不过不知道现在还在不在那里，地址在Ne |

我从最开始就好喜欢小kent，惊恐小鹿的表情，还有那句，“去过大城市，铁岭啊～”
，一下就特别亲
切。正式比赛开始，总是被人们催着长大成熟性感，要摆脱惊恐小鹿的表情。不太理解
nigel他们为什
么说jose好，jose对我来说就是白开水，没有不好，但是不够劲。上周看Kent和lauren
的表演，突
然好希望他俩能在一起，虽然对lauren我没有什么感情吧，纯属多个八卦吧，嘿嘿。
你觉得这周谁会走呢？
其实我没看。。。。。不过按照之前的表现，我想billy，kent，robert，lauren都很
稳，ashley
鉴于是唯二的女生了，我觉得评委也不会轻易让她走（其实她上一周表现挺好的，那段
hiphop到位啊，
foxtrot就不说啥了，反正给谁谁死）。
估计要走jose或者adechike，后者可能性大吧，除非发挥好不在后三。
再往下，唉，真难啊，大家都差不多。。。。。 |

min drive from Philadelphia. $10 ($5 student), including dinner buffet. The
desert is super.
However, the dance population there is highly splitted. 1/3 of people there
below 30, the rest above 60. Usually, when smooth music (foxtrot, etc) is play,
the dance floor is full of elderly couples, and full of young people when latin
music is played. Here is a conversation during my first time there

发帖数: 1138 | 19 昨天是tryout，大约有20来对参加，最后根据各对的表现分别编入A,B,C几个班。在C上了
大半年以后我这次希望混进B的队伍中。Tryout的格局同比赛稍有一点儿类似，大家被随
机分成两组上场，standard部分把Waltz，Tango，Quickstep，Foxtrot各跳一遍，然后大
家全部上场跳一支Waltz，考察所谓拥挤中的floor crafting的能力，接下来老师给大家
示范了一组绝大多数人都不会的waltz动作，给了几分钟的练习磨合时间，看谁最后能基
本把模样跳出来；拉丁舞部分跳的是Chacha，Samba，Rumba，Jive。现学现练的那组
chacha动作我们两个恰好基本上都在别处学过，所以感觉比上一回合waltz的现学现练要
从容了不少。刚刚收到email，算是顺利混进B了，以后会开始主要学习sliver/gold的东
西 |

恩，waltz感觉越来越舒服了
foxtrot的 rise and fall也感觉开始舒服了。恩
还是那样的，小时候我学走路也许摔过很多跤，我也没有认真练，长大了我跑起来也不

我和boundless参加的比赛的详细结果：
第一天：
New comer American Rythm:
- Cha-cha: 1st round (no call-back);
- Rumba: 2nd round;
New comer International Standard:
- Waltz: 1st round;
第二天：
New comer American Smooth:
- Waltz: 5th round (final), 7th in 90+ couples;
- Tango: 3rd round;
- Foxtrot: 2nd round.
另(第二天）：
One of the new comer representive in team match:
- International Waltz;
- American Rumba.

上tech class,standard foxtrot
老师教我们手拉手，跟情人那般的，要温柔，等等，当然老师的主要意图是
教我们如何touch，passion stuff。
但是人心里都有点怪怪的。我反正觉得心里毛楚楚的，指头紧张，放松不下来。
心里就是有点格硬
这还不算。
拉完了手，老师说好了，手上的感觉有了，我们来继续练进一步的touch，
就是contact了，于是抓一个girl上去两人开始演示。
先是伸手两人握住，然后是contact,腰部要紧贴。
然后老师开始讲解。于是他把手放下来，搂着她的腰，这样位置比较固定，
才好演示。这些都可以理解。
然后因为面对面，两人离很近。老师偏过头来给我们讲几句，然后回头去看
那个girl,从侧面看，两人五官面对面很近。手又搂在腰部，非常象准备接吻
的那个姿势。我使劲咬着嘴唇不敢笑出来，大家也是绷的紧紧的，鸦雀无声。
然后老师跟那个girl的对面又好像要躲一躲似的，避免真的对面情不自禁。。。
我当时想，够危险的，换上我未必把持的住，哈哈
就眼见着这个girl的脸从脖子根开始红上来。。。。老师毕竟大的多，比较

但我一直没有付诸行动，当然一方面是因为没有合适的partner,但另一方面也是因为我个
人担心的因素。
我看过许多太早进入open level的dancers,最后的结果都不尽人意，许许多多的girls in
champ level,却没有办法follow一个简单的syllabus foxtrot,第一次见到的时候，我很
suprised,后来我的一个coach告诉我，其实这很常见，一般就是比较talented的dancers
(especially girls!), rush into open level too early的结果。
我想这是女生们的一个问题，因为我们只要能follow,有个好的partner,一般情形下都能"
蒙混"过去...那到底要如何知道什么时候是开始跳open materials的时机呢？
basics永远都不可能perfect,不管什么程度，大家都还是不停的work on basics啊,所以
这似乎也不能拿来当一个标准。那拿赢得比赛的次数吧，但大多数不住在N |

or rhythm because all of which have open positions where lady dancer is on
her own to express freely. But even in standard, when you watch top
professional ladies, they are very expressive! You can see it through their
body movements and head movements. That is what makes standard so beautiful,
and that's why I love it so much! Like in a foxtrot outside swivel, you can
see the lady's head swirl, and that's so dreamy. |

or SS. |

now relax and have a great holiday weekend! this is not an engineering project
!!!!! like i said each beat of music can be further divided and the boundary
can become blurred. a variety of music interpretations also add to the
artistry of dancesport. |

some judges are gonna say your prep is too late. |

left on count 1 at the very start. |

if you trust him/her to be a good teacher. (if not, change your coach:)
because if you don't, you're gonna be yelled at every time for doing it wrong.
in the end, dancing is an art, not a science. some people count in Q and S,
some people count in 1234, yet some count in &1&2 etc. the ambiguity provides
artists like luca and massimo with room for their artistic expression. we have
to learn to be comfortable with the a |
