跟你说的相似，交上去后一段时间没有变，然后在6月29日status time变了但是status
没有变，在7月2日status time和status同时分别变成7月2日和recommended。
我个人觉得很有道理。这样就可以不用等到据信就可以准备recycle了。

I guess the rationale is that NSF program directors purposely delay issues
decisions to those unfunded PIs. NSF simply do not want to see that those
PIs quickly revise unfunded proposals by stating that they have incoprorated
reviewers' comments. Otherwise, NSF would be piled up with revised proposals
from last submission season...
So the strategy is that NSF tells the bad news after or very close to Fall submission deadl |

and he said that he has not made decision on any proposal and will make
decision in around 1 month. After 1 month, I got his email. I dont know
if this PO sends notification to unfunded proposals though. but I know
that some proposal in the same program that is handled by another PO is
still pending, but the status of the fastlane has changed. dont know why
they delay the notification of unfunded proposals - wait for more m |

it. Usually, you will get the money in 1 month after the status changes

getting funding is slim. However, it is also possible that the program
managers are waiting to see if more funds are available to fund more
proposals.

may be the best way to find them: although 8 out of 10 times they will not
be available :-))
The funding situation is much better because of the stimulus money,
especially for new investigators.

I called a PO more than 10 times and she never picked up the phone. The
acceptance rate does not seem to increase much even with the stimulus
money - in the programs where I submitted proposals, there is only around
5% increase in acceptance rate. It is also hard to tell if the funding
situation is much better for new investigators, at least. not in the
programs where I submitted proposals. Probably it really depends on the |

department saw a flood of NSF awards since June. When funding rate is below 15%, I personally believe more politics
will play since POs of NSF have absolute power.
Some career awards were originally declined but rescued by
the stimulus money. |

rules for distributing the money. Some programs tend to give money to
more people and some programs tend to give more money to each person.
The number of NSF awards my dept. gets is not increasing. Not many new
career awards were given in the program I submitted: I checked the
nsf website and it seems that each program manager gives only 1 more
award. However, many people who got funding got all money they asked for.

know whether your proposal is rejected or not. If it is rejected, you
can submit the proposal to other places. However, it seems that many POs
neither reply emails nor pick up the phone these days.
